John Hamilton Glass, on the Canal Texel, watercolour, signed, 34.5 x 22.5 cm, and its pair, Evening Zandvoort (2) Condition report Report by GH The painting entitled Evening Zandvoort There is a small patch of white blotching above one of the sailing boats, which may be cleanable. Otherwise this picture doesn't appear to be damaged, the colours are reasonably fresh and there doesn't appear to be any fading or restoration. The mount is foxed and dirty with some water stains and the frame is in poor condition with some gesso missing. The picture entitled on the Canal Texel Generally in good condition with some very light water staining to the extreme bottom right of the image and the mount with foxing and dirt. The frame similarly damaged to the other with some gesso missing and chips etc.

Pedestrianism became a very popular spectator sport in the 19th century in Britian. The most famous pedestrian was Capt. Robert Barclay-Allardice who in 1809 achieved the feat of walking a mile every hour for 1000 hours (42 days), watched by an enormous crowd and earning himself a vast sum in the process.

A very fine Regency rosewood twin pedestal chess table and accompanying carved ivory chess set in the single fitted drawer. The canted gaming top with penwork decoration has a checkered centre board with each square decorated with a flower head and under a wide border of acanthus scrolls and with two panels decorated with Classical farming scenes. The plain frieze is edged with bobbin turned moulding above double baluster supports over a swan neck plinth with further bobbin moulds and raised on squat bun feet, 74.5cm high, 71cm wide, king pieces 12.5cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Chess set intact, red king with a chip to the crown, white king finial re glued, red bishop with a rough patch to one side of the reeded column otherwise all pieces in good condition. The table is in overall very good condition. With expected marks and wear. Penwork top has survived remarkably well. Structurally sound. The loop handle to the original key is broken but still functioning.
Two large Derby figures modelled as John Milton and William Shakespeare. Decorated with restrained enamelling and gilding, each stood leaning against a column stacked with books and raised on rococo style bases. Patch marks c1765, 31cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Some loss to Milton's cloak and minor old restorations. Shakespeare with a large series of cracks to the back and base and minor old restorations.

German Afrika Korps (D.A.K) Belt & Buckle Decorated with Souvenirs, being a standard other ranks tropical belt and buckle that has been decorated by a British soldier with souvenirs collected. The webbing belt has been fitted with a brass AK helmet shield decal, Luftwaffe collar patch gull, 4x British officers rank pips, Durham Light Infantry cap badge, silver grade hollow backed General Assault badge, mountain troops metal cap edelweiss, RAD aluminium cap insignia, Royal West Kent regiment cap badge and Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry cap badge. The German army buckle retains much of its original green tropical paint finish. These belts are often referred to as souvenir or hate belts.
WW2 US 94th Infantry Division Ike Jacket, complete with metal US and crossed rifles to the collar. Bullion rank bars to the shoulder boards. Original cloth divisional patch to the upper arm. Interior has the original owners name inked. Inside pocket has the original manufacturers label . Accompanied by a American army shirt with Armoured division patch and rank insignia to the arm. Ruptured Duck cloth patch above the breast pocket. (2 items)
WW2 Polish Armoured Division Beret, of black wool with embroidered Polish beret badge stitched. The beret has Supack Manufacturing Co Ltd makers mark, with unclear inked date stamp and size marked 6 ¾. Original leather reinforced patch and leather trim. Large moth hole to the top and some standard service wear.
WW2 Polish Red Cross Service Insignia, consisting of round embroidered patch of the Polish Red Cross Service, printed POLAND nationality title, pair of slip on rank slides with two braid bars and embroidered red cross symbols, fine quality large embroidered 2nd corps formation sign and a bullion 8th army formation sign. A Beswick figure of a Bedouin Arab warrior on horseback, No'd. 2275 to base, 26.5 cm long, raised on an oak plinth stand CONDITION REPORTS Metal sword is quite bent and mis-shapen, figure generally has wear, dirt and dust, oval wooden base appears to be slightly bigger than the base of the figure so may be associated, under UV light the figure appears quite blotchy although this could be due to the amount of surface dirt, the tail appears to have been broken off and there is restoration to the tail where it meets the body of the horse, one of the ears has quite a shiny patch and a line which shows up under UV light so this has possibly also been re-glued and repaired, there is over-painting to the tail and it is not possible to see the extent of the filler/repair beneath.
An Isfahan rug, the central cream ground with all-over stylised and foliate decoration in pale terracotta, blue, green and madder, within terracotta and blue stylised foliate decorated borders, signed, 224 cm x 153 cm CONDITION REPORTS Darker cream patch to ground, some darker marks, some uneven wear to rug, general signs of wear and tear.
HENRY R. HALL (1859-1927); oil on canvas, mountainous loch landscape with Highland cattle in foreground, signed and dated '90, 60 x 90cm, framed. CONDITION REPORT: There are five small old patch repairs to the canvas, there is a tear upper right of approx 2 x 1cm, and a scrape thinning of paint just beneath, there is a double impressed mark to the left pushing through the canvas and splitting the paint, there is a small hole lower left, and overall in need of cleaning. The frame is a modern gilt frame.
Irish Guards Warrant Officer’s Bearskin. A large impressive example. Black bearskin, with wicker internal frame and leather lining. Complete with correct pattern graduated brass and leather backed chin chain (one hook AF). Retaining Irish Guards St.Patrick’s blue feather plume. Skin now somewhat dry, some fur loss to the base, small patch restored and minor stitching faults; despite its faults it remains a good display example.
