A pair of Victorian hobnail cut and faceted decanters, each with stopper. Height 36.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: One decanter stopper has a small nick to the point of the finial and tiny chips to the base of the stopper otherwise it would appear to be in good condition. The other stopper has a tiny nick to the tip of the finial but is in otherwise good condition. One decanter has a small abrasive patch on the rim of the neck and is slightly rough to the touch. There is a tiny tip to the decorative band on the body but other than that it would appear to be in relatively good order. Its partner decanter has very tiny abrasions on the rim which can be felt using a fingernail and does look like there is evidence of it being ground out. Other than those faults mentioned the remainder of the body appears to be in good order.
A novelty inkwell in the form of a Vintage car, circa 1900/1910, modelled with a driver wearing cap and goggles, the rear forming the inkwell with ceramic liner, 16 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The inkwell cover is loose and is not hinged. The inkwell cover has a few small dark patches where the final finish has rubbed off. It has a ceramic ink liner which is in good order. There is some rubbing to some of the high points along the passengers door and also to the rim of the cushioned back and further small patches of rub spots to the opposing door and side of the hood. All wheels have rubbing to them which may be visible from the emailed images. There is a small fingernail hole to the rear of the car. This hole has a larger darker patch framing it. There looks to be traces of glue throughout the underside and the edges are sharp to touch. There are two small tears to the metal approx 4 mm in length and if looking at a clock face one would be at 6 o'clock and one at 9 o'clock. All faults should be available to see on our web images.
A pair of carved gilded wood Dogs of Fo, 19th century, each with a ribbon in its mouth resting on its haunches, one with its paw on a pup, the other on a ball, the gilding on a red lacquer ground, height 21 cm, width 17 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Right hand side dog - there is a fine but large slither missing beneath its tail. There is a fingernail size scuff on its tail and an older thumbnail scuff on the front of its tail. There is a crack across the middle of the base but this does not run all the way across. There are two drill holes in the base (most likely for securing it). The gilding is rubbed throughout to reveal a red lacquered ground. There is an old scuff to the rear left hand corner of the base, but nothing too detrimental. Looking at the rear of the dog, the patination to its left hand side is a lot lighter than the remainder. This measures approximately 4 cm across x 12.5 cm high. The left side dog - there are scuff marks to the tail revealing the natural wood. There is a large split approximately 13 cm long on the rear of the tail. There are three drill holes in the base but only two show through the surface. The gilding is rubbed throughout to reveal the red lacquer ground, this may be deliberately done for decorative purposes. There is a fine 6 cm split to the left side haunch just beneath the tail. There s also a small fingernail size patch rubbed to the heel of its rear leg. Having given the list of faults, these still remain a rather decorative pair of dogs.
An 18th century oak box settle, with panelled back, hinged seat and raised on stile feet. Width 107 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This box settle has plenty of character. Given its naive nature it is difficult to determine exactly what and when parts may or may not have been replaced. When looking at the item the left arm has been replaced however this is a well patinated piece of wood and is in keeping with the remainder of the piece. There is a large split to the side of the rear right hand leg. A further aged bit to the rear right hand side leg. The back panel has a light patch which may have been caused by numerous backs resting upon it, however the rest of the panel is rather dark and may have been affected by smoke damage. Basically it is all intact with only very minor knocks, any splits are indicative of its age. The emailed images would give you a better idea. The back panel of the seat has signs of old woodworm, and similar to the rear of the left leg/support.
A Thai gilt metal standing Buddha, 20th century, standing in Abhaya Mudra, standing on a flowering lotus upon three stepped tiers, all with leaf moulded decoration, height 101.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The finial to the headdress is removable and has a slight bend to the tip of which the decorative gilding is missing. There are small sections where the gilding is rubbed, particularly beneath the left eye, the right hand, small patches on the cape and on the stepped plinth. Decorations to the front of the figure are inlaid with small glass roundels. There is a small patch of gilding missing to the rear of the cape. There is a small section to the base of the platform that has been poorly cast and is now missing but this does not affect the stability of it in any form. The right hand side of the base has small cracks but we believe these to have been produced when made. It is given as 20th Century, it is most likely to be mid 20th Century as opposed to early.

The interior based lined playing surface is a little discoloured but in generally good order with no tears or losses. All counter wells are in good condition. The drawer front is in good order. The handles are later replacements but the backplates do cover the previous handle holes which are not quite from the same place as the current ones. The drawer lining is oak. The frieze is in good condition all around. The legs are all in good order with no repairs. We can see no evidence of any woodworm. The table is structurally very sound.
