The dress is two layered and has an asymmetric hem, with an overdress in sateen and an underskirt of nylon and tulle which is full length. The bodice and hem is edged in small cream beading detail.A full length 1970s-80s high waisted evening gown with a swathed chiffon bodice. It has a rose corsage under the bust line. It has a small train, and an asymmetrical full length tiered skirt of chiffon and nylon. An Edwardian lace blouse in a cream colour. The neckline is adorned in a lace ruffle, and the cuff has a light ruffle at the wrist. It fastens with a hook closure and a snap closure at the centre front. A 1930s decorative beach bag with folk embroidery style decoration done in wool thread. It has a pattern of flowers and leaves, and a female clown in the centre with a large petticoat skirt, all done in a rainbow of colours. It has two small wooden handles. T C Auger R.E., with Soldier's Release Book and related ephmera; a Second World War German Coastal Artillery Badge, in white metal, the reverse with vertical needle shape pin and maker's mark for F W Assmann & Sohn.The eagle and swastika over Kriegsmarine on the dial are on a semi circular patch which appears to be later. The movement is working and there are no visible cracks or damage. The Coastal Artillery badge has been de-natzified.

The edges of the hardboard are fragile and losses are forming where the nails holding the painting in the frame are positioned. The artist has used the textured side of the board to paint on, mimicking the texture of canvas. The artist has applied a pale pink priming layer to the support which has been used as a mid-tone in the sky and is visible around the edges of the buildings. There are a few losses to the paint layer, in the sky as well as in a patch of green at the lower left side. There are also losses around the edge of the painting where the hardboard support has degraded.

In 1761, she left Berlin for Stuttgart to paint at the court of Carl Eugen, Duke of Württemberg, before moving to Paris in 1765. She was elected a member of the Académie Royale in 1767. Therbusch befriended the art critic and philosopher, Denis Diderot, who favoured her work and she lived with him and other artists in Paris until 1769 when she returned to Berlin. She later became court painter to Frederick II of Prussia.The painting is executed in oil on canvas support. The canvas appears to be unlined but has been heavily impregnated with wax on the reverse. There is a large double patch on the reverse of the painting securing an old damage. The paint layers are stable overall. There is extensive restoration in the sitter’s face and a few other localised areas of overpaint in the background and red jacket. The varnish layer is thick, glossy and even. There is a light layer of surface dirt present.Framed 90 x 74.5cm

A Coalport Pembroke pattern tea service, pattern 966, comprising a teapot, cover and stand, sugar bowl and cover, two milk jugs, nine teacups, nine saucers, three plates, six circular dishes, four associated plates and a spoon tray/Provenance: The Estate of Anthony J Beeson/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: Teapot has haircracks under lip of tip of spout, otherwise good. Saucers have some stacking wear but in generally good condition. There are four associated side plates with this lot. Teapot stand is crazed and lightly stained. Two of the three side plates are crazed and slightly stained. One of the jugs has a patch of staining under the foot. Sugar basin and cover appear generally good. One of the large shallow bowls has a small chip under the rim, another has a short haircrack to the rim. There is an associated spoon tray with the lot. Teacups are generally in good condition although a few have very rubbed gilt to interiors and handles. Coffee cups generally appear in good condition although some are faintly stained to interiors.
