A pre war .177” German Haenel “x” tinplate air gun, 31” overall, “barrel”/ air chamber 18”, the actual 8½â€ť barrel, which is removed for loading, clips into the muzzle for firing, the metalwork nickel plated overall, the slab sided butt of beech wood stamped with the date “I 11.33”. GWO & C, the plating good (small patch of flaking and very minor crazing).

A George III Chippendale style mahogany chest on chest, late 18th century, the dentil cornice above a blind fret carved frieze with two short over three long graduated drawers all between blind fret carved canted stiles, the base with three deep drawers, raised on bracket feet, 104cm by 54cm by 182cm Reasonable condition with the exception of previous handle marks visible to drawer fronts, section of timber spliced in above the largest middle drawer above lock, patch repair bottom left hand corner of bottom largest drawer, in panels which are original are variations in colour, some splits/sections of timber missing (see images), some of the blind fret-work has been replaced around the top section and sides, general repairs/strengthening work around bracket feet which original, with key for locks 231116
A box containing a collection of various Coin of the Realm, a 1937 Coronation box and nine various leather spined antiquarian books and a Victorian rosewood writing slope CONDITION REPORTS The rosewood writing slope has had some patch repairs. There is a large dent to the front edge - very scratched to the top surface, the velvet is worn in places and the velvet slope cover is worn in places. The brass ware inside is patinated, has verdigris and in need of some TLC. Has some small splits to the outside, has general wear and tear - see images. The 1937 coronation box has crazing to the varnish and chips to the transfer decoration, the base board is coming away at one corner and there is a crack to the left hand back edge of the lid. Coinage is predominantly 20th Century although there are some Victorian pennies all in very worn condition. The books all have damage to the leather covers and are fairly foxed inside, unknown if complete. some have back boards and front boards coming away
A sapphire and diamond ring, an oval cut sapphire in a yellow four claw setting, to tapered baguette cut diamond shoulders, on a plain polished shank, total estimated diamond weight 0.20 carat approximately, finger size L The ring is in good condition. There is a patch of solder to one claw of a diamond. It is stamped '14k' and in our opinion would test as gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour H/I/J, clarity SI1/SI1/I1. Gross weight 2.4 grams. CR made 30th August 2016.

LIDDELL ERIC: (1902-1945) Scottish Athlete & Missionary, Olympic Gold medallist. Liddell was one of the main subjects of the film Chariots of Fire (1981). Rare, bold black fountain pen ink signature ('Eric H. Liddell') on a page contained in an autograph album. The page also bears three other signatures, possibly of fellow Rugby Union players, and the album also features over 80 other signatures by various entertainers and sportsmen including Harry Lauder (with self caricature), Matheson Lang, Wally Patch, Moore Marriott, Danny Blair, Robert McPhail, James Crapnell, Neil Dewar, George Brown, Evelyn Morrison, Sam English, Alex Massie and other footballers, author John Buchan etc. Some of the signatures are in pencil and many are on multiple signed pages. Clear firing crack to reverse of lady's pink dress (underglaze). Some rubbing. Small patch of very thin glaze to girl's face. Glaze/shallow chip to lady's fingers on her left hand. Also lady's face with thin glaze and rubbing. Staffordshire group: some small losses to applied flowers and foliage.

Sharlie's Kenya Diary, 1st edition, Chambers, [1951], black and white illustrations, very light spotting on first and last pages, half-title with contemporary ink ownership name and price of two shillings, original pictorial cloth wrappers designed by Mackay, toned and spotted (mainly to rear cover), slim 8vo, together with Oxenham (Elsie Jeanette), Patch and a Pawn, 1st edition, Warne, 1940, colour frontispiece, original blue cloth with crown on front cover and spine, slightly chipped and rubbed dust jacket, adhesive tape repairs to verso, 8vo, plus two Brent-Dyer 1st editions: 'Lorna at Wynyards' and 'Top Secret', both with dust jackets, plus six others similar 'Sharlie's Kenya Diary' is a scarce survival, part of a set of four Geography Readers by Brent-Dyer, published in 1951. Two Chinese Export silver tennis trophy goblets by Tuck Chang of Shanghai, one with engraved date "1932", in two sizes, both on three crossed tennis racket and ball supports above pedestal bases, the larger one inscribed "Entente Tennis Club Shanghai Season 1932 Mixed Doubles (H'cap) Winner", gilt interiors, 16 cm. and 14.8 cm. high, wt. 253 gm.Both have slight distortion to foot rims, the larger one has a patch and a plug to one side
A rare Premet couture printed silk crêpe ensemble, circa 1940, labelled, the jacket with ruched gathers to the massive padded shoulders and patch pockets; the matching skirt with woven satin '8 Place Vendome' waistband, with pleats to side hem, bust 92cm, 36in, waist 61cm, 24in (2)French couture pieces made during the war in occupied Paris are extremely scarce. CONDITION REPORT: Wonderful exaggerated shoulders on this. Faint perspiration mark at left underarm which is obscured by the busy pattern and light soiling generally (especially left shoulder area). Would benefit from dry cleaning. Shoulder pads are stained. Skirt with damp stains on waistband. Overview - good condition, needs cleaning, great wartime silhouette.
An Yves Saint Laurent green taffeta 'domino' cape, 1976-8, Rive Gauche labelled and size 38, with deep flounced collar CONDITION REPORT: Watermark at right front hem and a couple of small tears here also. Faint patch of yellow discolouration to lower right skirt, not immediately obvious, and similar at left front edge (minor). Make-up remains inside neck edge and minor soil mark to interior. Would benefit from dry cleaning. Overall very fresh and clean and great vibrant, even colour.
A fine and rare Alexander McQueen for Givenchy couture black sequined `flapper' dress, Spring-Summer, 1999, Givenchy couture label, handwritten with the collection date and stamped 'Press Sample', model no 32, the nude chiffon ground applied with herring-bone stripes of black sequins, with frond-like gold sequined and embroidered edges, points to graduated black tulle skirt, bust 76cm, 30in, waist 61cm, 24in; together with a photograph of the gown being modelled but with tulle sleeves (2) McQueen took as his inspiration for this collection the 'roaring twenties' and F.Scott Fitzgerald's 'Great Gatsby'. CONDITION REPORT: Good condition. 1cm split in tulle below zip fastener - easily repaired (minor). 0.5cm x 1cm bald patch in sequins halfway down rear zipper closure (minor).
A rare John Galliano Linton Tweed suit, 'The Ludic Game' collection, Spring-Summer, 1985, John Galliano 1 label, the fabric with fine black stripe and white mohair window pane check, the double-breasted jacket cut short and wide with asymmetric lapels, patch pockets, lined in green acetate with striped sleeve linings, with two remaining antler buttons; the above ankle trousers with wide tapering legs, concealed button fly, chest 122cm, 48in, waist 71cm, 28in (2)'The Ludic Game' was Galliano's first catwalk show after graduation. It took place on the 18th March 1985, at The Pillar Hall, Olympia, London, at 6.30pm and 8pm - such was the interest that it had to be shown twice. The looks were unisex. The clothes, which some buyers described as 'experimental', were beautifully made and of expensive fabrics. Deborah Bulleid, his assistant at the time remembers:'John agonised over the Linton Tweeds woollen suiting fabric with white mohair checks because it was so perfect. He thought it resembled a bird's eye view of ploughed fields, with the tufts of mohair representing the sheep's fleece caught in hedges. He kept asking - 'but can we afford it?'. In the end he couldn't resist it.'Pieces from this collection are extremely rare as few were made and most pieces that have come to light were given as payment to the models in the show. CONDITION REPORT: Jacket - lining is stained around inside collar edge. Two buttons are missing and there is a hole in the fabric where one was forcibly removed. This would not be noticeable if a replacement button was re-sewn. Hole in interior pocket/lining. Sleeve linings and cuff areas are soiled. Trousers in good condition, exterior is good, soiling/stains to crotch area.

A gentleman's brocaded silk banyan, circa 1760, of pale peach silk brocaded with ivory and pale green ribbon garlands and blossom, double-breasted with silk cord covered buttons, wide curved sleeves with broad cuffs, short stand collar, pocket slits and two internal linen patch pockets, lined in green taffeta, chest 102cm, 40in CONDITION REPORT: Exterior silk is slightly soiled in appearance generally, faded overall - colours would originally have been much stronger. Repairs to area below the rear collar, centre back collar edge has split and frayed edge. Cuff edges are frayed also. Brown stain approx 3cm diam to rear left hem area. Lining is worn and stained in places, especially at underarm areas. Slight thinning to silk in places, mainly near the hem.
A striped chine taffeta robe à la polonaise, 1770s, the silk woven in shades of green pink and ivory, the open robe with closed front bodice, linen linings, double engageants, pinked furbelows to the skirt edging, with matching petticoat (2) CONDITION REPORT: ·Petticoat seems narrow for the dress so fabric may have been removed. Linen seat panel looks like a replacement. Faint light brown discolourations to rear hem area. 2 small splits front left hip area of petticoat.·Robe has faint perspiration stains at underarms and repair and wear at right underarm. Old stitch lines suggest front left and right skirt panels have had the waistline lowered. Linen bodice lining is fresh and good apart from perspiration stains at underarms. Faint brown stain to left engageant flounce. Sleeves have been narrowed. Front left skirt panel has a superbly matched patch 25x20cm. Faint light brown stain on furbelow. 3x5cm patched repair to front hem. Back skirt panels - a few small scattered holes. Rear right back - 2 faint discolourations.
A rare and early Gabrielle Chanel black satin coat, circa 1918-20, with narrow yellow on black woven Paris label, bolduc no 4281 stamped in turquoise ink, slightly barrel-shaped with deep fur collar to frame the face, broad fur hem band and cuff edgings, single hook to fasten at the collar, lined in tan silk, with internal patch pocket, of loose cut, chest 122cm, 42in Provenance: The coat was left in a sack outside a charity shop as a donation and is being sold in aid of the 'Break' charity. CONDITION REPORT: Exterior of the coat is generally good. Tiny burn hole in front closure panel. Fur is slightly matted but generally good, fur at cuff edges is rubbed. A seam needs restitching at rear neck. Exterior satin is generally good. Faint perspiration stains at underarms. Although the chest has a wide measurement to add volume, it fits a 34in bust mannequin really well. Lining is very soiled and generally poor, patched repairs and splits at underarms.
