In the center of the shield there is a white cross in the form of an X, the cross of St. Andrew, Patron Saint of Scotland. Lanark County coat of arms inscribed on the cross. A triangular patch in the form of a black puma on a yellow background, the symbol of the 14th Greater Poland Armored Brigade, a unit of the 2nd Polish Corps. The badge is made of yellow felt with a puma embroidered with black thread. There are visible traces of stitching on the reverse. A privately purchased item, most likely made in Italy. There is some wear to the marks. There is overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is some minor bruising overall. The marrow-scoop in usual condition. * Fabric, 18th century, a collection, comprising: a hand-stitched silk brocade panel, possibly Spitalfields, circa 1750, curved at top edge and composed of two pieces (with vertical join 29 cm in from left-hand side), woven with pattern of large meandering flower stems in shades of pink, blue, yellow, and green, amongst foliated scrolls in metallised silver thread, on a cream ground figured with floral tendrils, sides and upper edge hemmed, lower edge raw, perishing in places and some light discolouration, 93 x 69 cm (36.5 x 27.25 ins); a large hand-stitched pieced brocade portion of a skirt (6 sections), woven in blue and white incorporating metallised silver thread, with large floral stems amongst vertical lines of sinous lattice ribbon embellished with flowers, leaves, and berries, loom width 54 cm (21.25 ins), top and side edges raw, lower edge with hem and with 10 cm high strip of pale blue silk on verso, perishing in places, approximately 57 x 165 cm (22.5 x 65 ins); and 4 fragments of bizarre silk, the first woven with metallised gold and silver threads on a deep cream ground, with swags, seedheads, scrolls, and floral and foliate motifs, top edge with hand-stitched hem, left-hand edge with folded hem (not stitched), green and yellow selvedge to right-hand side, lower hem raw, with mansuscript note in a late 18th or early 19th century hand on laid paper attached with pin 'a piece of a Dress of Mrs Latley's in the family picture', 71 x 33 cm (28 x 13 ins), the second with white pattern on a blue ground, some marginal fraying, 94 x 55 cm (37 x 21.5 ins), the third white on a yellow ground, some marks, 7 x 23.5 cm patch to upper left corner, 99 x 43.5 cm (39 x 17.25 ins), the fourth white on a pale apricot ground, foxed, 104 x 54 cm (41 x 21.25 ins) QTY: (6)

Domingo María de Servidori (Italian, 1724-1790) - Portrait of Joseph Pinfold Esq., seated before a table with two ink pots and with a letter resting upon his lap, addressed to the sitter and inscribed by the artist; oval pen and ink on vellum, signed to the foot of the letter 'F. Dom. Ma. de Servitori'. Original label verso handwritten in ink inscribed 'Joseph Pinfold Esq Drawn in Italy for Miss Isabelle or Louisa Pinfold C.B' (engraving size 11.25 x 8.75 cm, frame size 18.25 x 15.5 cm) * Condition: In good condition overall, with no spotting or staining to the drawn image. There is some surface dirt and toning to the vellum to the margins from contact with the frame and paper edging around the glass. There are several small insect holes to the vellum - two to the left of the sitter's face in the background and one to the top of the caned chair back - these have been patched behind with paper and the lines on the original drawing matched into the patch - the paper behind has toned over time and now shows as yellower than the original vellum to the front. There are also three other insect holes to the margins of the vellum, which are outside of the drawn image and do not show when framed. The frame has been later painted.
