An oak dresser base,18th century, with three drawers, a shaped apron and a pot board,175.5cm wide40.5cm deep79cm highIt does not come with a key.The top has bowed down the middle. When the tape measure is laid flat, the gap is approximately 1cm deep. There is some splitting as a result. The whole is sturdy and does not have any give. The replacement section to the top right-hand corner does not flex.Some of the feet have been replaced or shorted. They are on slight risers. The darker patch is a historic chip and is approximately 2cm wide - please see additional images.No signs of woodworm.
ATTRIBUTED TO JOHN GREENHILL (1649-1676) "Gentleman in white lace stock and yellow jacket" a portrait study, head and shoulders, oil on canvas, unsigned (provenance: Julian Simon Fine Art London 1990) 76 cm x 62.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Has been re-lined and re-varnished. Has signs of crazing and craquelure throughout. There appears to be a patch to the right hand corner above his head although nothing visible under UV so clearly has had some restoration work as well. Areas of paint show signs of flaking but has been varnished over the top of. Something similar is apparent along his left shoulder line along with the base of the hair and to some areas of his clothing. Frame has some minor losses to the gesso / decoration throughout as well as cracking and wear to the gilding. General wear and tear conducive with age and use. See images for further detail.

Small losses to frame at corners. This is based on close observation under raking light, and when stood back looking at the work on a wall, in our opinion, these do not overly distract and it remains a pleasing image. George Wright (1860-1942)'Gone to Earth'signed 'G. Wright' l.r., oil on canvas56 x 92cmFramed size: 69 x 104cm. The canvas has been lined. There is a just visible fine craquelure in parts and faint stretcher mark to the right edge. There are several tiny abrasions with corresponding paint loss, one to the centre and a tiny one to the lower right, see illustration. The surface is covered with a thick layer of varnish which obscures much of the surface, however, occasional minor restorations are apparent in places, including a spot to the side of the right hand dog, and some strengthening to the edge of the standing rider's coat. With the naked eye in raking light, there are some small areas in places where the varnish looks a little patch, however, there are no significant signs of repaired damages and the paint is not thin. Generally, the work is presented ready to hang in a stable and clean condition, nicely framed in a suitable gilt composition frame.
A 19th century French porcelain patch box with hinged cover, decorated with a courting couple within a landscape, with floral spray decoration to sides, puce mark to base "Lille 1767", 6cm wide, 3.5cm high, another similar heart-shaped box, (restored), three Bilston-type patch boxes, (all damaged), together with a set of miniature brass dominoes in box, each domino 23 x 10mm, (6).
A fine guilloche enamel Victorian serpent bangle, in a fitted case from TR Sachs, Practical Jeweller to the Queen & Royal Family, 22 Hyde Park Place. The guilloche enamel is formed to replicate the effect of scaled skin, over a gold bangle to the underbelly of the snake, which has been tested and is assessed as 18 ct gold. The snake's head features 16 diamonds - 14 rose cut diamonds - and two old mine cut diamonds. The largest of these two is approx 6mm x 5mm, the second is 3.5mm x 4mm approx. The other 14 diamonds range in size from 1mm to 3 mm. The diamonds are set into platinum mounts into the snake's head. There is a panel on one side supporting diamonds and an approx 1.5mm ruby in platinum to represent the eye of the serpent. The bracelet is articulated at five points to allow the snake to be coiled around the wearers wrist.This bracelet is as found. It is in need of some repair. It is missing one diamond, believed to be about 2mm round, and the second platinum eye panel which would have had a futher ruby and three melee diamonds is also missing. One of the points of articluation has a raised pin, which is somewhat prominent. The enamel is in very good condition with the exception of a worn patch close to the rear of the main head panel, which measures about 5mmx 1.5mm.Gross weight 32 grams approx.
four antique babies' items to include a late 19th or early 20th century christening cape in a fine cream wool cloth with soutache and a hand knotted silk floss fringe, along with a late regency or early Victorian dress in cotton with a block print leaf design in purple. This is hand stitched, and finished with inserts of cutwork edged with buttonhole stitch and padded satin stitch, an early 20th century Carrickmacross needle run lace lace bonnet and a late 10s or early 1920s tabard, made from pieces of fine net, whitework embroidery, a needle run lace and a valenciennes style lace stitched together. the cape has some minor moth damage and a raw edge to the larger of the double collar.the dress has a couple of tears and a patch beneath a small hole.

A pair of Chinese Fahua moon vases, Yongle archaic script marks but probably laterOf circular shape with garlic head rims and twin loop handles, decorated with five-clawed dragons amid clouds, picked out in turquoise against a near black ground, 27cm high. AN ITALIAN CARVED WALNUT STUDIOLO OR WRITING CABINET 16TH CENTURY The fall front opening to an arrangement of small drawers surrounding a central cupboard door opening to three further drawers183cm high, 95cm wide, 50cm deepProvenance: Private Collection, Oxfordshire. A studiolo was particular to Renaissance Italy in the 16th century. It was used in a room known as the 'Studiolo' the intellectual cubby-hole of the house, where the Conoisseur would show and refer to the prizes of his collection. Condition Report: There are some marks, scratches, knocks, chips, splits and abrasions consistent with age and use.There are losses and restorations including a missing tip to the metal coronet escutcheon, with a patch behind; there is no key and the lock is open; the upper interior backboards with a dark wash, the lower interior backboards cream painted; repairs to one foot; later mouldings to the cornice; the fall front cracked and repaired; vacant holes to the hinge area suggesting that there was previous metalwork; later interior blocks and staining; later sections of timber to the interior.There is evidence of worm.Please refer to the additional photographs as a visual reference of condition. The appearance of it could be improved by careful waxing/ colouring by an experierenced restorer but will always be detectable/ visible. The photograph of the patch is amongst the first 5 additional images and is measure above. Some of the paint has slight worn off but overall good condition. Zip works fine.Grey knitted jersey long dress - Slight wear overall but good condition no obvious damage. Zip is fine. Some loose hanging attached thread at waistband where some beads have possibly been attached.Purple crepe/chiffon dress - Slight wear overall. Belt fastening and press studs have some signs of wear and some loose threads. Overall god condition and no stains/holes.Lilac crepe dress - Slight wear overall. Very slight staining under the arm hole. Zip works fine. Overall good condition and no obvious damage.Emerald green crepe dress with embelishment - Slight wear overall. Beading still all in tact and no obvious holes/tears. Concealed zip is stuck and would need replacing.Floral silk type blouse - slight wear overall. No obvious damage and in good condition. No label.Black midi skirt with floral stitching - good condition, slight wear overall but no obvious damage.Black crepe material midi skirt - Slight wear overall. Signs of wear on the waistband as some fabric is loose. No obvious rips or tears and zip is working.Black skirt with darts - SLight wear overall. No obvious damage/tears and fastenings work ok.Black long jacket - slight wear overall. No obvious damage/tears and fastenings work fine.

Flannel shirt - some wear, white shirt - hole to the back and very worn.
