The barrels are in proof, ring when tapped and there are no dents visible. The bores are clean and free from pitting. There are some very light score marks along the length of the bores. The blacking to the barrels is in good order with only slight wear. The barrels are on face and tight on the action with no wobble with the forend removed. The actions function correctly with snap caps. The stock is free from splits or repairs, there are occasional scratches and dents from use including a patch of slightly unsightly varnish scratches to the forend as illustrated online.

The rest of the bore towards the muzzle is good and a sharp rifling pattern present. The stock has a small worn flat patch of chequering on the bolt side, it is otherside in good state with no splits or repairs and only light scratches marks and dents.

Cased Deane Adams and Deane percussion 54bore revolver, serial number 12489, 6.5inch sighted octagonal barrel, the tope strap engraved 'Deane, Adams and Deane, 30 King William Street London Bridge', also engraved with an owners monogram F.S.C., the five shot cylinder also bearing the matching serial number and London proof marks, the frame is engraved 'Adam Patent' and bears a retailer name 'E & E Manuel, Agents 101 High Street Portsmouth'. The original oak case has the maker's label to the inside, and contains an original Adams bullet and ball mould, C&J.W. Hawksley copper and brass flask, cleaning rod with jag, nipple key, screw driver and wad punch, Dixon and Sons oil bottle, and a tin of Kynock percussion caps. The case measures 34cm x 20cm The revolver is in fair general condition but has a lot of original blue remaining. There are some light pitting marks dotted around as well as a patch on the barrel of heavier pitting, this can be seen from the online images. The bore has a crisp rifling pattern but there is some pitting within the grooves where they run up next to the lands. The cylinder is polished bright and has some scattered pitting marks. Four of the five nipples move with the wrench, one does not, but it looks like with soaking it might free up. The action works correctly and positively with good timing and excellent lock up. There are some scrape marks to the finish on the frame around the heads of some of the screws from an oversized screwdriver being used. The accessories are in good general condition with slight wear marks and very light pitting to some of the steel parts. The screwdriver blade has a slight twist to it from over exersion. The powder flask has some dents and is covered in light speckled corrosion. The case show signs of age and use but is structurally sound. There are lots of dents marks and stains. There is a chip to one lower corner and a split to one underside board. The linings internally have some sections which wobble but are still affixed in place. There is no key for the lock.

Willis Maker, Price Street, Birmingham, scroll engraved actions, chequered stock with spur trigger guard and horn tipped forend. Buyer must be over the age of 18.108cm long The gun is in average sleeper general condition and really requires a sympathetic restoration in order for it to look its best. The barrels have a dull ring when tapped, there are small dents visible to the left tube and a larger (but not obvious until close inspection) dent to the right hand tube. The bores have some scattered pitting marks dotted throughout. The exterior of the tubes has some spotted surface corrosion as well as a larger patch just ahead of the forend. There is a small rattle or wobble perceivable with the forend removed. The actions function correctly with strong springs. The metal finish to the actions has largely been worn away and there is alot of surface muck accumulated. The forend has a split which opens further with pressure and needs gluing, this is probably been caused by a replacement screw to the inside of the forend. stock is free from splits or repairs, there are scratches and dents from use.

There are two holes drilled to the barrel ahead of the forend, these do not show through to the bore and one of them is threaded possibly for a sling swivel. The rear sight is replaced as are the two screws which hold the forend on, there is some grinding marks to the exposed bolts ahead of the trigger. The action works correctly with a strong spring. The metalwork has some overall pitting.

The original horn trigger guard has been replaced with a well-made aluminum replacement. The .22 barrel is a liner that has been fitted, the British proof marks being stamped over the original markings. The .22 barrel has a reasonably crisp rifling pattern without any signs of fault. The 16 bore barrel has few light pitting marks scattered within the last third of the tube. The barrels are free from dents. The action appears to function with snap caps correctly, the firing pins work however the cocking indicators are not present. The stock is free from splits or repairs. There is some wear and the chequering is low in places as well as some scratches and dents. The scope shows lots of signs of wear. The picture is usable but not as bright as would be ideal. There is a patch of scratching to the objective lens.

The grooves are dark and dirty and really the bore needs a very good scrub out with cleaner. It currently returns a brown-coloured patch. The crown has some light pitting and a scuff, there is some light pitting to the face of the muzzle. The bolt face has a primer pocket mark to it. The action works correctly and positively. The metal finish has some scuffs and wear marks. some light surface corrosion can be seen to the portion of the rear sight which is covered by the sight aperture when the sight is set in the down position. The stock has some dents and scratches but no splits or repairs.

The barrels ring when tapped and there are no dents visible, although a slight undulation can be seen in the underside of the left barrel where a dent has been lifted. The barrels are in proof and measure at: .730 right and .734 left against a proof stamp of .729 on each side. The walls measure a minimum of .26 right and .19 left. The bores are clean very light shadows can be seen from pitting that has been lapped out. There is some slight rivelling that can be seen in the left tube. The browning to the barrels is in good order with only slight wear, there is a small patch of scratching to the left side barrel. The barrels are on face and tight on the action with no wobble with the forend removed. The actions function correctly with snap caps. The stock is free from splits or repairs, there are occasional scratches and dents from use but nothing defacing.
