ADAM KUCHENREUTER IN REGENSBURG, CIRCA 1850 with etched twist octagonal sighted barrels signed in gold script surrounded by silver scrollwork and stamped with silver-lined maker's mark, scroll-engraved breeches and breech tangs, the latter each fitted with adjustable back-sight, scroll-engraved locks each fitted with gravity-stops, decorated with trophies-of-war and differing scenes of cavalrymen, the hammers each engraved with a J"ger vignette, set triggers, highly figured walnut half-stocks carved with scrollwork about the tangs and over the fore-ends, fluted butts carved en suite (one cracked through and repaired), scroll-engraved steel mounts en suite with the breech tangs, comprising flush-fitting side-plates of shaped outline, spurred trigger-guards, and butt-caps, and vacant white metal escutcheons: in original fitted case lined in plum velvet, and retaining almost their entire compliment of original accessories including mainspring clamp, nipple key and cut-glass oil bottle (powder-flask and turnscrew missing) 40cm; 15Nin Johann Adam Kuchenreuter (1794-1869) was gunmaker to the Princes von Thurn und Taxis.

**A SIX-SHOT PERCUSSION PEPPERBOX REVOLVER BY GEO. & JNO.DEANE, 30 KING WILLIAM ST, LONDON, CIRCA 1846-51 with scroll-engraved case-hardened fluted barrel group, case-hardened self-cocking action signed within a frame of scrollwork on the left, and finely engraved with a panel of scrollwork on the right, engraved case-hardened bar-hammer, engraved sliding safety-catch, engraved trigger-guard, finely chequered walnut butt fitted with scroll-engraved butt-cap with trap, vacant silver escutcheon, and retaining traces of original finish throughout: in its original brass bound mahogany fitted case lined in green baize, the lid applied with trade label for 30 King William Street (one small tear), and complete with copper Sykes patent flask and nipple key 22.5cm; 8Pin George and John Deane were appointed gunmakers to Prince Albert in 1848 and exhibited an electroplated silver revolving pistol at the Great Exhibition in 1851. High St. Southampton', bright scroll engraved cylinder and Tranter Patent rammer, blued safety-stop, arbor-pin and arbour-pin catch, scroll engraved blued trigger-guard and pommel, finely chequered walnut butt, and retaining nearly all its original finish throughout, London proof marks, in original fitted mahogany case lined in blue baize with accessories comprising brass bullet-mould, Dixon pistol-flask and oil bottle, loading/cleaning rod, ebony-handled turnscrew and nipple-wrench, five spare nipples, gilt bullet tin, a japanned tin of Tranter's patent lubricating composition, and a japanned tin of Eley Bros pistol caps made exclusively for Tranter's revolvers, the lid of the case with Alfred Clayton trade label, the exterior with circular brass escutcheon. Footnote: Alfred Clayton is recorded as trading in Southampton between 1855 and 1867.
