Victorian silver hip flask, of oval form, with engraved foliate and scroll decoration, and monogrammed shield shaped cartouche to centre, with plain collar and cap, H11cm, hallmarked Chester 1899, maker's mark worn and indistinct, together with an Edwardian silver glasses case, of oval form, with engraved foliate and scroll decoration, and monogrammed circular shaped cartouche to centre, with opening to top, revealing velvet lined interior, with silver shield clip, H17.5cm hallmarked to case and clip Sanders & Hill, Birmingham 1908, with a pair of gold plated glasses Condition Report:Approximate total silver weight 4.24 ozt (131.9 grams)General wear commensurate with age and use including surface scratches, nicks and small knocks. Velvet lining coming away from interior of glasses case. Top rim of glasses case bent outwards slightly. Hip flask with no stopper, lid does not close flush or securely. Engraved decoration with rubbing to detail, particularly around the outer edge of the hip flask. Hallmarks with wear particularly to maker's mark on hip flask.
A pair of cased Cavalry Officer's 13-bore percussion belt pistols by Westley Richards of New Bond Street, London with 5½" octagonal damascus barrels, engraved steel locks with side safeties, chequered walnut stocks with captive ramrods and steel belt hooks contained in an oak maker's case with copper pistol powder flask, oil bottle, cleaning rod, bullet mould and accessories (No. 565/6 Made by Westley Richards in 1847 and retailed to a Cavalry Officer on the 19th January 1848)
