Lot 212
A late 19th century sword stick with acid-etched and engraved blade, white metal mount and further white metal bands to the sheath, a three-section walking stick with brass horse head finial enclosing a drinks flask and a further walking stick with resin eagle head finial (3). CONDITION REPORT The sword stick has been covered in leather as a much later addition and the white metal bands are deformed, dented and heavily rubbed. The blade is also heavily worn and pitted - particularly by the hilt, the white metal band on the hilt of the blade is misshapen and possibly retrofitted. The handle is almost certainly not the original for this walking stick. The horse's head walking stick - the threads are loose for the horse's head and it does not grip the collar properly. The drinking tube within is glass. The eagle's head example has heavy wear throughout the shaft.

A CASED .31 CALIBRE FIVE-SHOT PERCUSSION LONDON COLT MODEL 1849 POCKET REVOLVER, 5inch sighted octagonal barrel stamped with the manufacturer's details on the top flat, the cylinder with good stagecoach cylinder scene and stamped with the serial no. 9084, the frame stamped COLT'S PATENT to the left side, two-piece varnished wooden grips, contained in its blue velvet lined mahogany case, the lid with maker's loading instructions, complete with flask, mould, cleaning rod and Colt's cap tin. Retains good traces of blued finish to the barrel and faded colour to the frame.

A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE MOON FLASK, having dragon handles, floral decoration on white ground, approximate height 26cm, (damage to one dragon handle and restoration, chips and cracks to the rim), together with a Chinese tea caddy having six character marks to the base, Dog of Fo standing on the cover, approximate height 24cm x width 17cm x depth 7cm, a Chinese plate having three pierced panels to the rim and fish decoration to the centre, approximate diameter 25cm, a blue and white Chinese ginger jar, hand decorated with boys in fighting positions, approximate height 15cm, double ring stamp to the base, paper import sticker in place, but no longer legible, crack to the cover, a Chinese stoneware shouldered vase having three toed dragon decoration, approximate height 10cm, a Chinese jug, decorated with bridge and boat scene, approximate height 8cm x 13cm from spout to handle, fritting, a Chinese vase having four toed dragon decoration, approximate height 10cm and a Chinese finger bowl, approximate height 3.5cm x diameter 8cm, chip to the rim (8) Condition Report One handle is missing head and tail. The neck has been anmd glued and also has lots lof chips to the rim as per the description. The other handle is missing the tail tip.

FIVE SMALL ROYAL WORCESTER PLATES AND TWO SCENT BOTTLES PAINTED WITH BIRDS, the larger scent bottle and plates signed W. Powell, both scents decorated with goldfinches, the plates with Wren, Robin, 'Missel Thrush', Nightingale and Bluetit, various printed and painted marks, plates diameter approximately 12cm, scent bottles approximate heights 10cm and 8.5cm (7) Condition report Robin plate has some crazing in the glaze. The 'Missel' Thrush plate has a plain gilt edge unlike the others and it also has wear. The scent bottle with stopper is in good condition although the cork has been glued into the stopper. The flattened flask scent bottle has no stopper but is in good condition. Both scent bottles bear Worcester marks. The flattened flask has light wear to the gilding where it rests on a surface. The other scent bottle has some light wear to the gilt stopper
