A GOOD LARGE PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY CHINESE CANTON FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN MOON FLASKS, together with fitted carved wood stands, each painted with circular figural panels reserved on a turquoise ground embellished with scrolling lotus, each 19.2in high overall on stands, each flask itself 15.9in high.
An Edward VII silver mounted facet cut glass hip flask, the collar hallmarked London 1905, the cup for London 1906, maker's mark of GA GA One side with initialled cartouche. 13 cm high. CONDITION REPORTS: Generally in good condition, some general wear. Approximately 10 troy ounces total weight.

Cased pair of early 19th century pocket flintlock pistols, by Edward Patrick, Liverpool Engraved with 'Patrick' to the side plate of each pistol & foliage decoration on reverse side. Engraved sliding safety catches and folding triggers in a mahogany & brass mounted case lined with green baize. A large paper label to underside of lid states 'Edward Patrick gun maker to his Royal Highness the Duke of Gloucester. No 44 Strand Street, Liverpool .......' Accessories include barrel key, bullet mould & a copper & brass 3 way flask stamped Dixon & Son Sheffield (NB box missing brass plaque to lid & screw missing to side plate)
3rd-4th century AD. A piriform glass flask with dimple base, ribbed body, tubular neck with restriction to the lower end, flared neck with applied trail rim. 92 grams, 11cm (4 1/4"). Very fine condition. Acquired on the London art market prior to 1980. Cf. Whitehouse, D. Roman Glass in the Corning Museum of Glass, vol.2, New York, 2001, item 621. The body of the flask was probably formed in a dip-mould giving the fine ribbed texture.
1st century AD. A bronze plate brooch formed as a flask or jar modelled in low relief with La Tène-inspired tendrils surrounding; hinged pin and catchplate to the reverse. 7.58 grams, 36mm (1 1/2"). Very fine condition. From an important London collection, acquired in the 1990s. See Hattatt, R. Brooches of Antiquity, Oxford, 1987, items 1019, 1021 for type.
2nd-3rd century AD. A glass flask with tapering conical body and rounded base, deep shoulder, broad flared neck with folded rim. 42 grams, 13cm (5"). Fine condition, accretion to surface. Acquired on the London art market prior to 1980. Cf. Whitehouse, D. Roman Glass in the Corning Museum of Glass, vol.2, New York, 2001, item 694.
10th-14th century AD. A mixed group comprising: a glass cylinder flask, ribbed with rounded underside; a squat glass ampulla with dimple base; a brown-glazed ceramic jar with rosettes to the shoulder. 336 grams total, 42-97mm (1 3/4 - 3 3/4"). [3] Fine condition. From the collection of a North London gentleman; acquired in the 1980s.
4th century BC. A large blackware ceramic guttos with broad pedestal base, discoid body, loop handle and waisted spout, ribs to the shoulder, central disc with medallion of Silenus facing; South Italian (Magna Graecia) workmanship. 313 grams, 12.5cm (5"). Very fine condition. Property of a central London gentleman; formerly in the Tony Brandon collection, London, UK; formed 1980s; collection number 12. The guttos was essentially a flask with a handle and vertical spout and was used for keeping liquids that were poured out in drips. The inclusion of the face of Silenus, a demi-god associated with Dionysus, the god of wine, would indicate that this vessel was used for wine or other liquids associated with the god or ritual feasting.
A 19th Century Coalport scent bottle of moon flask form decorated with an enamel and gilt basket of flowers and grasses against a deep blue ground, the foot and stopper with gilded banding, printed mark, height 10cm, together with a late 19th Century scent vial decorated in the Imari palette with a white metal collar and cap, length 6cm (2)
