A 19th century teak and brass bound gentleman's travelling box, the hinged lid set with a folding mirror above an interior with lift-out tray revealing a small hip flask, razor and various scissors, also a pewter measure, a small shaped pewter bowl, height 10, width 18cm, depth 23cm. CONDITION REPORT: The lid is slightly uneven where the right hand hinge has moved forward slightly, surface scratches and wear as you would expect from a campaign piece, the central lozenge inlay is very rusted, wear also to the interior.
A Victorian silver rounded oval spirit flask by Alfred Taylor, Birmingham 1866, with a screw cover, engine turned with a cup base, engraved with a motto Ne Oublie above a crest anda monogram JG, 14cm (5 1/2in) high, 232g (7.45 oz) The crest for GRAHAM. The head of clan Graham is the Duke of Montrose. The title holder at the time of this flask was James Graham, 4th Duke of Montrose, KT, PC (1799-1874). The flask does not carry a ducal crest so probably belonged to another member of the clan.
