A RARE TIBETAN POWDER-FLASK (RDZAS KHUG), 19TH CENTURY with brass-bound leather body, soft leather neck, tapering steel nozzle, the reverse fitted with a brass ring and complete with its leather suspension 8cm; 3 1/8in highG. C. Stone identifies this type as `Hmam skuk`, probably a phonetic rendition of `sman khug`. `Rdzas Khug`, literally translated `gunpowder-flask`, appears to be the more usual term. See D. Larocca 2006, p.211.
