FLEET MARKET VERY EARLY FLASK. 9.5ins tall, flattened round shouldered flask, impressed WOOD/ WINE & BRANDY MERCHANT 8 FLEET MARKET. Despite restoration this is an unusual early piece. Fleet market was opened in 1737 on the newly cullverted River Fleet, to the West of Smithfield livestock market, demolished in 1829, thus the flask could predate this? Very crudely formed & glazed.
