A selection of Roman glass, 1st-4th Century AD, all in pale green glass, comprising a small bowl, 5.7cm diameter, a conical unguentarium, 7cm high, an ointment pot, 5cm high, an onion-shaped juglet with a rich golden iridescence from burial, 7.5cm high, together with the neck of a Byzantine glass flask, 5th Century AD, later reduced to form a funnel and a small jug in Sidonian style, the side panels moulded with vase motifs, trailed handle and rim, 9cm. (6)/Provenance: from the Henry Sandon Study Collection CONDITION REPORT: Funnel - Exterior decoration to funnel, peeling interior with lime scale deposits. Small vase - slightly misshapen with good pontil at base, later deposit throughout interior. Flat vase - cloudy with flakey deposits to interior. Smaller bulbous vase - with small chip to neck, lime deposits inside. Shorter ewer - very badly coated otherwise in good condition. Shaped ewer - with deposits on exterior, no chipping.

A large stoneware harvest flask, circa 1850, in the form of John Barleycorn or Souter Jonney, in two-tone brown salt-glaze and a London salt-glazed stoneware spirit barrel crisply applied with the Royal Arms of Queen Victoria, 29.5cm high (2)/Provenance: from the Henry Sandon Study Collection CONDITION REPORT: Harvest jug in the form of John Barelycorn/Souter Jonney- handle cracked and restored, short hairline crack extending from edge of footrim to underside of base.The barrel - minor chipping to edge of spout, small flat chip to the rim at top, scattered footrim chipping, otherwise ok.

A Roman glass flask, 2nd -3rd Century AD, in pale green glass and of generous size with a pear-shaped body below a cylindrical neck and flattened rim, 16cm high, typical surface weathering, contained within a display case/Provenance: from the Henry Sandon Study Collection CONDITION REPORT: The inside has limey deposits which in places in main body prevent view to inside. Former decoration to exterior almost completely obliterated. Cracks to the base, spreading in the lower part of the bulb. Other scratches apparent throughout.
