A Deane, Adams & Deane 38 bore self cocking percussion revolver:, the 19cm octagonal steel barrel engraved `Deane, Adams & Deane 30 King Williams Street London Bridge` on the top flat, also `Adams patent No. 8501R`, chequered walnut grip in original mahogany case with retailers label to interior, fitted with accessories including a Sykes coper powder flask, wadding bag, mould, rammer, and nipple key. *Note Designed by Robert Adams and patented on 22nd August 1851 the new self cocking (double action) revolver was an improvement upon the single action Colt revolvers of the period
