A Chinese blue and white square section flask, decorated with flowers and insects, a small pear-shaped vase painted with a kingfisher and a cylindrical box and cover decorated with a landscape scene, Kangxi and later, the flask fritted, the vase cut down, 25.5cm. (4). Provenance: Ernest Ohly Collection.
Worksplate 'The English Electric Co. Ltd. Vulcan Works Newton-Le-Willows, England No. 3383/D849 dated 1963'. Ex EE Type 3 Class 37 Locomotive released to traffic in November 1963 as D6905. On 5th May 1974 it received the first TOPS number 37205. In February 1987, the second TOPS number, 37688 was applied and in June 1988 was named GREAT ROCKS at ICI Hindlow Quarry. On the 7th July 2007 it was named KINGMOOR TMD at Kingmoor TMD Open Day. Last known working DRS nuclear flask trains. Rectangular chromed brass, 10¼" x 4½", totally ex loco with almost all of the original blue paint intact.
A leather case picnic set, by A Barret & Sons fitted a pair of ceramic saucer plates and cups, a thermos, a glass bottle and cover, a sandwich box and a pot and cover and a dessert knife and two teaspoons, the lid stamped 'A BARRETT & SONS TO THE ROYAL FAMILY 63 AND 64 PICCADILLY LONDON' 12.25in (31cm) w, and a plated sandwich box initialled 'H M McD' dated 1920 in a leather case with belt strap stamped 'ANDW WATT & SONS SADDLERS EDINBURGH', a glass conical flask with leather case, a set of six 'LINGA LONGA' beakers in a leather case and a camping stove. Fine silver golfers pocket hip flask hallmarked Birmingham 1893 engraved on the obverse Bowdon Golf Club 28th Sept. 1901 together with the clubs crest and motto featuring crossed golf clubs and golf balls - fitted with original hinged lid - overall 4" x 4" (VG) Note: Bowdon Golf Club was a 9-hole golf course in Altrincham, which became defunct between 1955 and 1958.
A collection of three pieces of Roman glass to include a yellow double balsamarium, conjoined tubes decorated with applied turquoise spiral trail, with two yellow glass handles on either side extending to a thicker arching basket handle above, 15cm high; a translucent green glass beaker with slightly flared rim, set on a pad base with applied turquoise ring trail, 11cm high; a green glass Janus-headed flask, the body mould-blown with head of a curly haired youth on both sides, damages to top edge, 7cm at tallest (3) Provenance: From the collection of James Curle (1862-1944) of Priorwood House, Melrose and thence by descent.
A Cased double barrelled, side-by-side, sidelock, percussion shotgun by J. Pratt of 99, Princes St., Edinburgh. J. Pratt is recorded as a gunmaker working from this address in 1853. Browned, twist barrels bearing London proofmarks. Complete with ebony ramrod. Named locks retaining some colour. In fitted brass bound oak case containing turned wood nipple box, shot flask, patent topped extra quality powder flask by Sykes, worm, octagonal plated oil bottle, spare mainspring, nipple-pricker, lock screw, five wood handled turnscrews, nipple- wrench and nipple and hammer nose cleaning tools and a leather wallet containing a turks-head brush and a jag. Inside of case lid bears the trade label of John Pratt. Barrels 29.375 "
