GEORGE V SILVER HIP FLASK,maker Asprey & Co., London 1920, with hinged cap, engine turned body and detachable cup, 11.8cm high, approx. 180gCondition generally good to fair. No major dents, though ding to left shoulder and towards base of cup, also light wear throughout as per use and age. Screw with some more noticeable scratches, though functions well and sits flush. Cork all but perished, with the majority being in the flash whole. Not watertight. No personalised engravings. Significant tarnish beneath cup. Additional images now available.

Cased pair of John Manton target pistols, 19th century, each signed in gold along the top flat 'Manton London'. Breeches each with platinum line and platinum vents to barrel, with engraved tangs finely decorated with martial trophies and foliage, signed Manton border engraved flat bolted detented locks. Blued safety-catches engaging with foliate engraved dolphin hammers, striped maple half-stocks with chequered rounded butts, trigger-guards each with later applied spur and decorated with a martial trophy bearing the serial number, trigger-escutcheons, and original brass-tipped ramrods. In a cotemporary mahogany case with some accessories including brass powder flask, bullet mould, mallet head, loading rod and patch cutter, the interior of the lid carrying handle. By John Manton, London nr 5663 for 1812. These pistols were made for use in the shooting gallery behind the Dover Street shop. This pair has been converted from flintlock by John Manton & Son circa 1826.
