**Pair of Antique Gunpowder Horn Flasks: Leather by Dixon & Sons and Metal by Sykes** This distinguished pair of antique gunpowder horn flasks showcases exquisite craftsmanship from renowned makers. The flask on the left is a creation of Dixon & Sons, fabricated from fine leather and exquisitely embossed with an intricate hunting scene, featuring dogs in pursuit, capturing the rustic charm of the era. Measuring at a weight of 3 pounds, this flask exemplifies the quality and detail Dixon & Sons are celebrated for. On the right, the metal flask by Sykes presents a distinctly different yet equally sophisticated aesthetic. Cylindrical in shape, it is adorned with an elegant shell-like pattern that highlights the meticulous artistry typical of Sykes' designs. Despite a minor leak, which is indicative of its age and usage, the flask remains a captivating piece worth the collector's attention. Both flasks collectively encompass the craftsmanship and thematic designs of their time, making them valuable additions to any antique collection, particularly for enthusiasts of historical arms and accessories.
