A SILESIAN ENGRAVED GILT-METAL MOUNTED OCTAGONAL FLASK CIRCA 1760, finely engraved, possibly by Christian Gottfried Schneider, on one side with a man holding a musket and sabre and two women, one holding a heart, standing amidst rocailles with diaper and foliate scroll, repeated on the shoulder and on the reverse around the monogram JL, the faceted short neck with metal mount and chain link, 22cm., 8.625in.
A Bohemian engraved flask circa 1760, the flattened ovoid form with tall slender flared neck with narrow pouring spout and strap handle, engraved on one side with a water fountain, barrel, flasks and goblets below drapery flanked by scrolling foliage, the reverse inscribed Wil bin nicht nein trinck gutten wein . Tass. dar war ser Wasser sein, above a flared foot, 27cm., 10.625in.
