An unusual Burrwood flask of compressed circular, form the screw in top with ivory insert.. 11cm DiameterPart of the Michael Shrubb (1934-2013) collection of snuff boxes. Michael Shrubb was a renowned ornithologist and author who investigated the effects of farming on British birds. He was born at Sidlesham near Chichester and in 1968 he moved to Llanwrtyd Wells in Wales and later to Aberdovey on the Welsh coast. For many years he edited Welsh bird report and Welsh birds and in 2012 he received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Welsh ornithological Society. He was a co-founder of the Sussex Ornithological Society and served as a council member of the RSPB and of The British Trust for Ornithology.

ABSENTA ALTAMS 1940-1950'S Another rare bottle of Absinthe, this time from the Altimiras Distillery in Spain. Presented in a pint flask. The rear label describes the contents as "Healthy & Wholesome", if only all spirits were such. Some evaporation. Level bottom shoulder/ top body. Fantastic image of the Devil holding a globe and pouring a bottle over Europe. 1 bottle.
A set of four 19th century German enamelled glass beakers Each decorated with a crest; together with a late 18th century Bohemian blue glass flask enamelled with a figure and an inscription; and a small late 18th century Bohemian glass flask enamelled with lily-of-the-valley sprays. The largest 14.5 cm high. (6) CONDITION REPORTS: Some gilt and enamel wear/loss to beakers, chip to top rim of blue glass flask, some enamel wear, the smaller clear glass flask with some enamel wear and with the pewter rim dented and misshapen, general wear.
