A most unusual and attractive art pottery puzzle jug, the octagonal flask shaped body encrusted and moulded with flowers and foliage, the short neck moulded with four bearded heads beneath the pierced spouts to the handles, indistinctly incised with the inscription: 'While France and Merry England continue in alliance our navy rides triumphant and bids the world defiance' and on the reverse 'No handy craft can with our art compare, we make our pots of what we potters are', centred by a single hole with collared decoration, circa 1855 (?), 206mm high, minor damage

A late 17th century silvergilt scent flask, in the form of a pilgrim flask with a screw cover and a ribbed oval foot each side with a cisele ground revealing a putto below a banner, amongst floral scrolls with an applied lion mask boss (to secure a chain to the cover) unmarked probably English/French/Low Countries c.1690 2.7" (6. 7cm) high 1.5oz.
