Antique Pewter, Bleeding Bowl, Porringer and Flask, an antique pewter porringer, English, probably 18th century, with touchmarks NR and leopard's head, no graduations, diameter 13.5cm; a larger bleeding bowl, graduated 4-24 fluid ounces, no marks, full diameter 16.3cm; a hexagonal pewter flask or bottle with screw cap and handle, mid 18th century, engraved to one panel initials VS in wreath and date 1758, further crude engraving to base, initials and date 1760
GEORGE V SILVER HIP FLASK,maker Asprey & Co., London 1920, with hinged cap, engine turned body and detachable cup, 11.8cm high, approx. 180gCondition generally good to fair. No major dents, though ding to left shoulder and towards base of cup, also light wear throughout as per use and age. Screw with some more noticeable scratches, though functions well and sits flush. Cork all but perished, with the majority being in the flash whole. Not watertight. No personalised engravings. Significant tarnish beneath cup. Additional images now available.
Plated Ware, including Cavendish Plate salver inscribed "Presented to Chan Ah Hing by Lieutenant- General Sir Richard Ward KCB DSO MC in Memory of and with Thanks for His Service at Flagstaff House, Hong Kong from 20 November 1945 to 15 April 1971" and facsimile signatures; together with a ladies fancy link belt, a plated trophy cup, oval hip flask, cruet items, etc.
Cased pair of John Manton target pistols, 19th century, each signed in gold along the top flat 'Manton London'. Breeches each with platinum line and platinum vents to barrel, with engraved tangs finely decorated with martial trophies and foliage, signed Manton border engraved flat bolted detented locks. Blued safety-catches engaging with foliate engraved dolphin hammers, striped maple half-stocks with chequered rounded butts, trigger-guards each with later applied spur and decorated with a martial trophy bearing the serial number, trigger-escutcheons, and original brass-tipped ramrods. In a cotemporary mahogany case with some accessories including brass powder flask, bullet mould, mallet head, loading rod and patch cutter, the interior of the lid carrying handle. By John Manton, London nr 5663 for 1812. These pistols were made for use in the shooting gallery behind the Dover Street shop. This pair has been converted from flintlock by John Manton & Son circa 1826. WHISTLER', walnut stock with engraved steel furniture, captive ram rod, chequered grip, butt trap; later fitted case and accessories including a pistol powder flask. PRATT, PRINCES STREET, EDINBURGH', bar hammer engraved with chevrons and a star, sliding safety bar, chequered grip with vacant silver escutcheon, engraved steel butt trap; in a fitted case with combined bullet mould/loading rod, pistol powder flask, ebony wad box, and nipple key, Pratt trade label to lid - possibly later.
A 54 bore Adams model 1851 five shot self-cocking percussion revolver, Belgian licensed manufacture, hexagonal barrel 6 in., scroll engraved frame numbered 10382, with Kerr patent rammer, chequered grip with vacant escutcheon; in a fitted case with double bullet mould, powder flask, and cleaning rod.
Three powder flasks: the first a shagreen covered and silver mounted flask, the oval body within a silver flame and bearing a star shaped emblem on one side and a monogrammed shield on the other, the spout with a pull off cap retained by a chain; the next an English copper flask in the form of a gun butt, embossed with foliate scrolls and chequering at the wrist, diamond registration mark for 7th January 1854, graduated brass spout marked for Dixon & Sons; the last a pistol sized flask of similar gun butt form.
