De l’Empereur a Paris, each numbered 1 & 2 in gold at breeches, deeply cut with 12 groove rifling, open sights, grey finished locks and iron furniture engraved with fruiting oak, detented actions, stocks carved with fruiting oak and with finely chequered grips; in their green felt lined close fitted veneered case, lid lining with maker’s gold blocked address, containing green leather covered flask, steel pincer type ball mould with cut off, steel powder measure, wooden loading mallet, ramrod, cleaning rod and wooden handled screwdriver (nipple key missing), turned wooden cap box. Barrels 26cms, overall 41cms. Good condition, barrels well re-blacked, lid detached, some damage to veneer, brass stay and escutcheon detached but present, one compartment lid missing
Good 6 Shot 172 Bore Self Cocking Percussion Pepperbox Revolver, colour hardened barrels Birmingham proved, round nickel frame engraved CHARLES JONES 26 ST JAMES’S STREET LONDON, and IMPROVED SELF-ACTING PERCUSSION PISTOL within scrolling foliage, numbered 186, colour hardened hammer, blued trigger guard, rounded 2 piece walnut grips; in its blue felt lined mahogany case containing with SYKES flask retaining most original finish, colour hardened pincer type ball mould, wooden handled turnscrew and nipple keys. Barrels 6.5cms, overall 17cms. Good condition, lock removed from case and cavity now filled, lid slightly shrunk.

Barrel 12.5cms, overall 24cms. Good condition, pistol with some age wear overall.

Barrel 15cms, overall 29cms. Good condition.
16-Bore Double Barrelled Percussion Sporting Rifle by James Purdey, No.2489, browned twist barrels engraved on the top rib J PURDEY 314½ OXFORD SREET LONDON, 2 leaf platinum lined sights to 150 yds, platinum safety plugs, London proofs, signed bolted locks engraved with stag and foliage, detented actions, engraved steel furniture, patchbox lid with scene of a charging bull being shot from horseback, buttcap tang with stag’s head and date 1833, trigger guard with chequered finger rest, chequered small and fore, carved cheekpiece, brass tipped wooden ramrod. Barrels 76cms, overall 118cms. Good condition, stock and barrels well refinished, locks and furniture cleaned but still quite sharp. In its mahogany case with brass mounts, folding handle, green felt lined and fitted with steel ball mould, tinned Hawksley powder flask, nipple key and cap tin. Good condition.
Good Double Barrelled Percussion Cape Rifle by Joseph Bourne No. 3187, Damascus twist etched and browned barrels comprising 39 bore left barrel deeply cut for a belted ball, 14 bore smoothbore right barrel, signed matted top rib with 6 platinum lined graduated leaf sights (unmarked) rib engraved with trophy measure to 20”, platinum safety plugs, signed bolted foliate engraved locks retaining much colour hardened finish, engraved iron furniture retaining much original finish comprising stag engraved trigger guard bow with chequered finger rest, large rectangular patch box lid engraved with a lion, figured walnut stock, chequered small and fore, vacant nickel escutcheon; in its brass bound blue felt lined fitted oak case containing leather covered Hawksley flask, a leather shot bag (seam split), oak box with sliding lid and a few other non-original accessories (hinged brass handle to lid bent). Barrels 76.5cms, overall 117cms. Good condition.

Speculative Assortment of Mostly Incomplete and Mostly Indian Weapons Parts and Associated Objects, including 2 katar hilts of Tanjore type, early iron dagger and sword hilt, 2 tulwar hilts, small axe, kukri, lance head and 2 shoes, small rectangular brass shield, Khyber knife and kard, parts of water pipes, 2 bettel cutters, a leather cup holder (possibly early Ottoman); the following reproductions - painted bone flask, 2 daggers, 2 sword hilts; and a few further items. Average condition well worn and damaged.
A 19th Century Copper Powder Flask by G & J W Hawksley, embossed with a stylised shell, with external steel spring and brass charger; an Unusual 19th Century Cloth Covered Tin Powder Flask, with brass and tin T shape charger, the pear shape body embroidered with hanging game, with tubular tin outer rib set with five suspension rings; five Tin Powder Flasks, of varying sizes, three painted red; a Small Leather Shot Flask, with wood charger (8). Copper flask has a split to side seam and two dents to body. Cloth covered flask has scratches and scrapes to charger which is siezed, the cloth is dirty and faded. The tin flasks have scrapes to paint. The shot flask is lacking a stopper.
A Stitched Leather Shoulder Case for a Pair of Shotguns, the tops with satchel type flaps, rolled straps to hold the shoulder strap, each compartment with stitched number (1 & 2), 121cm; a 19th Century Brass and Steel Bullet Mould by G.Higham, for five bullets, with walnut grips; a G & J W Hawkesley Steel Powder Flask, covered in pigskin, wiht brass mounts and external steel spring - lacks charger (3). Shotgun case with a little crazing to surface of flaps, generally in good condition with lovely patina. Bullet mould with some cleaned off rust pitting and dings to brass. Powder flask lacks the charger, orange rust pitting to part of the external blued steel spring, minor scuffing to body which has no dents.

A Pair of 19th Century Duelling/Officer's Pistols by Joseph Manton of London, 30 bore, with plug and nipple conversions from flintlock, each with 24.5cm octagonal browned steel sighted barrel, inset with gold poincon, signed lock plate with slide safety, walnut full stock with steel ramrod pipes, trigger guard with finger rest and pineapple finial, the chequered bag butt with silver escutcheon, with horn tipped wood ramrod, 37cm, in a mahogany case, the cover inset with brass ring handle, the inner lid with original paper label, later lined in green baize and fitted with associated accessories including a copper pistol flask, a brass cap dispenser, a bullet mould, cleaning rods etc.. Actions work smoothly, holding at full and half cock. The marks on the poicons have been obliterated by the conversion process. Bruising to the stocks. Case with bruising and four fine splits to the cover.
A Brace of 19th Century Indian Percussion Cavalry Pistols, one numbered L856, one numbered L857, each with 21cm octagonal browned twist barrel, plain lock plate, walnut full stock with bag butt, steel belt hook, swivel ramrod, the trigger guard inscribed in Farsi script, contained in an associated oak case, the inner cover set with a paper label to Edward Whistler, London, the interior later green baize lined and fitted with accessories including a shot flask, cap case, turnscrew etc. Actions work, holding at full and half cock. No visible proof marks. Fine pitting to metalwork. Minor bruising to stocks, small chips to fore-ends, one with chips around the trigger guard.

Pair: Private J. Baker, South Staffordshire Regiment Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Orange Free State, South Africa 1902, unofficial retaining rod affixing clasps (6081 Pte. J. Baker. S. Stafford: Regt.); 1914-15 Star (10765 Pte. J. Baker. S. Staff: R.), pitting and contact marks, nearly very fine Special Constabulary Long Service Medal, G.VI.R., 1st issue (Wilfred Marshall); together with an Italian Vittorio Emanuele III Royal Household Memorial Medal, bronze, good very fine (4) £100-£140 --- John Baker attested for the South Staffordshire Regiment and served with them in South Africa during the Boer War, and during the Great War on the Western Front from 4 May 1915. He was disembodied on 15 October 1916, and was awarded a Silver War Badge. Sold together with a Copper Powder Flask by Dixon & Sons, 195mm in length with fluted decoration, the action broken.

Lieut. J. Kilby Glouc. R.); British War and Victory Medals (2. Lieut. J. Kilby); Memorial Plaque (John Kilby) in card envelope, with Buckingham Palace enclosure; together with the recipient’s identity bracelet ‘2d. Lieut. J. Kilby C. of F. 10th. Glosters attd 3rd. Worcesters’, extremely fine (4) £200-£240 --- Provenance: Acquired by the vendor directly from the recipient’s family. John Kilby was born in Southville, Bristol, in 1888 and attested for the 12th (Bristol’s Own) Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment at Bristol on 14 September 1914, as one of the Battalion’s original members. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the 10th Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment on 17 June 1915, and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front. He died of wounds on 21 August 1916, whilst attached to the 7th Mortar Battery, and is buried in Forceville Cemetery, France. Sold together with the recipient’s Commission Document and War Office enclosure; named Record Office enclosure; Buckingham Palace telegram regarding the recipient’s death; a copy of ‘City and County of Bristol Roll of Honour’; a fine portrait photograph of the recipient; a ‘New Bristol Battalion, Gloucestershire Regt.’ badge; the recipient’s whisky flask; and copied research.
