F.A.F Durance (The Lincolnshire Regiment), including medals (comprising of War Medal 1939-1945, Defence Medal, 1939-1945 Star and the Burma Star) various military uniforms (some bearing Lincolnshire Regiment patches and buttons) dress uniform jacket, WWII pith helmet with cover, caps and hats, large tin trunk and suitcase, medic's sleeve/arm brassard, Lincolnshire shoulder patch and other military patches, mosquito net, belts, small hip flask, whistle, photographs, documents, etc. Framed military photographs including '75 G.P. TPT Coy R.I.A.S.C "C" Section September 1942', '366 Indian Supply Section R.I.A.S.C May 1943', An instructors course, senior officers school, various paperwork and ephemera.
A red japanned flask shaped tin powder canister, with coloured label of “Pigou, Wilkes & Laurence, Dartford and Battle” (the label incomplete, cap missing); a rectangular black powder canister, for “Curtis’s and Harvey No 2”, with lozenge shaped label; a canister for “Granulated Schultze Gunpowder”, with labels; and a more recent canister for Curtis’s & Harvey’s Sporting Gunpowder, by ICI; also a small brass fishing reel. A pair of 36 bore percussion duelling pistols by D. Egg, converted from flintlocks of c 1790, 15” overall, octagonal twist barrels 10”, fitted with new breeches and nipple bolsters, top flats gold inlaid “D. Egg, London” ; flat stepped locks signed in script, engraved with trophy on the tails and scrolls on the hammers, typical Egg safety catches extend to the full width of the lock plates, so that when disengaged they give the appearance of being part of the plate; walnut halfstocks having rounded chequered butts, oval gold escutcheons engraved with a crest, and silver barrel wedge plates; steel mounts comprise typical elongated trigger guards with additional spurs, containing set triggers, domed butt caps engraved with border, trophy and flowers, and fore end caps engraved with sunburst. Good Working Order and condition, some mounts retaining traces of blued finish (small patches of rust staining to barrels, one action a little weak, one safety catch and both set triggers require slight attention, ramrods replaced); in a modern green baize lined mahogany case with a “bush” embossed copper powder flask. A large flask shaped black leather powder magazine c 1860, height 14½”, the brass baluster top having screw cap secured by a hasp and staple, the body of the flask reinforced with a broad leather band, and having 4 points where leather carrying straps would have been attached (now missing), with a later brass padlock and key. GC (the top of the brass screw cap dented). Plate 7
A cased double barrelled 20 bore percussion sporting gun, by Charles Moore, 772 St James’s Street, London”, 43½” overall, well refinished and rebrowned barrels 28” with makers poincon at breeches and engraved with maker’s name and address in script on the top rib, numbered 1502 beneath; bar in wood signed locks and rounded hammers scroll engraved overall; walnut halfstock with chequered wrist and shield shaped silver escutcheon; engraved steel mounts include trigger guard incorporating serial number 1502. Good Working Order and Condition (the butt with a series of filled holes probably where a cheek pad had been secured, ramrod a replacement); in its green baize lined fitted mahogany case, the lid with folding circular brass carrying handle and escutcheon, with maker’s trade label (worn), and containing an early copper powder flask with horn windows (no spring and worn), and a modern bar cap dispenser. Good Condition (lining worn, keyhole escutcheon missing). Plate 29
A 5 shot 54 bore Beaumont Adams double action percussion revolver, 11½” overall, barrel 5¾” with Birmingham proofs and engraved on the top strap “Edwd. Whistler, 11 Strand, London”, the frame engraved “Adams Patent No 41078”, cylinder also engraved “No 41078”, with deeply chequered walnut butt. Good Working Order and Condition, retaining much original blued finish, the trigger guard polished bright; in its fitted green baize lined light mahogany case with circular brass escutcheon to lid, containing double cavity bronze mould (slightly damaged), brass mounted ebony cleaning rod, reproduction flask, nipple key and turnscrew, and a tin of Joyce percussion caps, with key to case. Good Condition (small split to back edge of the lid). Plate 34

A FINE CHINESE YONGZHENG PERIOD MING STYLE BLUE & WHITE PORCELAIN MOON FLASK, together with a fine quality fitted wood stand, the moon flask of Bianhu form, each slightly domed side painted with a formal arrangement of lotus, the neck with moulded ruyi scroll handles, the neck rim with a ruyi border, the base unglazed, the shaped wood stand pierced with ruyi, 11.5in high overall, the flask itself 7.5in wide at widest point & 10.1in high.
