Two courtesans, Oudh, North India, 19th century, laid down on an earlier Safavid album folio, Iran, 17th century, opaque pigments on paper heightened with gold, depicted standing, one holding a green flask and the other a small gem-set cup, their brightly coloured clothes and slippers in contrast to the dark grey ground, within a narrow blue border with gold flowers, the blue album folio with gold lotus flowers, acanthus leaves and applied cartouches, reverse blank, painting 15 x 7cm., folio 28.6 x 19.2cm. Condition Report: light staining to folio, painting possibly reworked

Mid 19th Century 36 calibre 1862 Colt Police pocket percussion cap revolver with matching serial numbers 12286, 5.5 inch octagonal barrel marked address "Col Saml, Colt, New York, US America" and further Colt patent stamp on body of pistol, five shot cylinder, plain wooden grips and brass frame, overall length 11 inches together with fitted oak box of green lined interior containing a brass and copper powder flask, black painted and paper labels circular cannister marked Eley Bros, 250 metal lined caps made expressly for "Colt, PT Belt and Pocket Pistols" containing various lead balls together with further bullet mould tool, screwdriver, cleaning rod and grease tin, width of tin 12.5 inches
A very rare 19th century American novelty silver drinking flask, by Gorham, marked 'Sterling B 7606', dating it to c.1869, the unusual 1/8 pint hidden drinking flask disguised as a curved cigar / cigarette case, opened by twisting one of the corners to reveal pouring spout and cork stopper, 3¼in. (8.3cm.) long, gross weight 2.2 tr.oz. * Condition: Very light surface wear, very shallow tiny dent to hinge corner, good.
An unusual and extremely rare Edwardian silver hip flask, Hamilton & Co, London, 1903, together with a further ‘JB’ mark and other part marks, fashioned with six different compartments, resembling a rack of ribs, each spout bayonet fitting with integral cork stopper, below each engraved with a different tipple, WHISKEY; CHERRY BRANDY; KUMEL; CURACOA; CHARTREUSE; BENEDICTINE, 6 1/4in. (16cm.) long, weight 10.4 tr.oz. * Probably unique? * Condition: Small dent to front face in middle between KUMEL & CURACCA, dent to back left corner behind WHISKEY, hallmarks rubbed in places.
An exceptionally fine quality Continental silver cased glass hunting flask / bottle, of rectangular form, the front finely chased depicting a huntress amidst floral and foliate forest setting, each side with pierced trellis design, the back with stylised foliate decoration, bayonet fitting lid with chased initials 'SY' below coronet amidst foliage, glass bottle with star cut base, 9 5/8in. (24.5cm.) high.
A matched graduated pair of silver spirit flasks, the larger by Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1922, 5½in. (14cm.) high, with detachable cup and knurled turn-off stopper; the smaller by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield 1942, with domed turn-off stopper, weight 11.65 tr.oz. (2) * Condition: The larger flask in good condition, with two small, very faint dings to front. Marks good. The smaller with three faint small dents to body. Marks good.
A George VI silver spirit flask, William Adams Ltd., Birm. 1948, in the style of a car radiator grille, with engine turned decoration to the front, knurled turn-off stopper, 5½in. (14cm.) high, weight 6.75 tr.oz.; together with a cut glass and leather spirit flask, with silver plated mount, early 20th century, 5¾in. (14.5cm.) high. (2) * Condition: - Silver flask: Slight dent to lower front panel and two smaller faint dings further up. Tiny ding to underside, clear marks. Stopper works well - has several nicks to the surface of the silver around the knurled edge. * Condition: - Leather & glass: Front of leather faded and water stain to reverse. Has tooled initials to cover. Dent to stopper.
A late 18th/early 19th century enamel scent bottle case, painted with black and white oval reserves of an urn and flowers on a gilt heightened blue ground, containing a small faceted glass scent flask with gilt metal mounts, 6cm high, together with three oval enamel plaques decorated with classical urns, 4.5cm high, and a rectangular enamel plaque painted with a shepherdess, 6cm (5)Etui has some minor chips to the edge of the base, otherwise appears ok. The gilt metal mounts have some greenish corrosion and the bottle does not appear to be original. Rectangular plaque has several cracks front and back, and the oval plaques have some minor wear and scratches.

Vintage cut glass and leather travelling hip flask together with a Niello white metal cigarette case (4 troy oz approx) together with a Middle Eastern design white metal inlaid shell shaped box. (3) (B.P. 21% + VAT) The flask leather is cracked and worn, metal is tarnished. Cigarette case is tarnished, shell bowl is ok.
A large pair of Chinese porcelain moon flasks, 19th century (Xianfeng / Tongzhi), each centrally decorated in famille rose with a circular panel depicting pheasants perched on rocky outcrops amongst peony sprays beneath magnolia branches, against a white ground, all encompassed against a vivid orange body elaborately decorated with formal foliate scrolls and sprays, the shoulders mounted with gilt highlighted chilong lugs, unmarked to the underside, each 49cm high (2) (at fault) Condition Report:Moon flask 1 - Loss to head of one chilong lug handle. Varied localised areas of enamel decoration have flaked off from the surface of the body, more so to the green colourway - see images for clarification. White ground of circular panels surface stained and grubby however this does rub off, pitting can also be seen. Some glaze pooling to areas. General further surface staining and grubbiness. Foot rim not glazed. Small firing crack to the underside. Minor pitting and fritting to the interior of the neck and body. Small firing crack to inside of neck. Interior of vase grubby. Some bleeding to the decoration in areas especially around the rim of the neck and borders of the central circular panels. Generally dirty and would benefit from a professional clean.Moon flask 2 - In comparatively similar condition to its pair. Firing crack to the handle and body join to the chilong. Enamel flaking is less apparent to this example but more obvious to the blue colourway. Glaze chip to the underside. No signs of restoration to either example. It is our opinion that these date to the second half of the 19th century.
