A Hellenistic pottery model of a bull circa 1st century BC 9.9cm high, and a Hellenistic terracotta model of a dog, with brown detailing, 5.7cm high, a Roman glass stirring rod, circa 1st century AD,with a twisted stem having a loop handle and a bird finial, with a glass disc, 23.8cm long, and a Sassanian miniature green glass flask, circa 5th century AD, with a ribbed neck, 3.5cm high. (4) Provenance Ingrid McAlpine, 1939 - 2018, London and Epsom. Bull and dog - On loan to the Antikenmuseum Basel pre 1993.

Lut.' between two snakes, a maiolica flower vase with three shell apertures between Classical motifs, blue JT mark, a small maiolica jug painted in blue with a cockerel, and a Delft flask in the form of a barrel, inscribed 'Boy', some damages, 20.5cm max. (5) Provenance: respectively acquired from Sotheby's, 8th February 1966, lot 12; Sotheby's, 26th March 1968, lot 63 (part); Paskell & Cann, 2nd June 1986, lot 266; and Christie's, 27th July 1965, lot 1 (part).

JOHN DICKSON & SON, EDINBURGHAN EXCEPTIONALLY FINE CASED 16-BORE DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-RIFLE, serial no. 1685,for 1855, with browned 29in. two-groove rifled damascus barrels, the top-flat signed at breech 'JOHN DICKSON & SON, 63 PRINCES STREET, EDINBURGH', the remainder of the rib matted, inlet fore-sight, triple folding leaf rear-sight, colour-hardened breech-blocks with engraved platinum vented plugs and border and scroll engraved detail, fully borderline and scroll engraved colour-hardened top-tang, border and scroll engraved colour-hardened bar-action locks signed 'JOHN DICKSON & SON', en-suite dolphin-headed hammers, sliding safes forwards of the hammer breasts, figure walnut chequered half-stock (finish refreshed, expert inlet repair to edge of fore-end) with shallow raised cheek-piece, colour hardened engraved iron patch-box to the right hand side, blued chequered and engraved heel-plate, blued trigger guard bow with raised and chequered pistol-grip tang, eye and button sling mounts and brass mounted under-barrel ramrod, complete with its maker's brass cornered oak storage case lined and compartmented in embossed leatherette, parchment trade-label inside lid and sporting a full suite of accessories including a powder-flask, bullet mould, nipple-key, various patch and nipple pots plus assorted tools and turn-screws and a later 'K. Steggles' snail capper, the rifle retaining the majority of its apparently original finish and appearing little used, the lid of the case with circular brass escutcheon engraved 'ALEX HINTZE 1867', the name repeated on both the underside stock escutcheon and on an applied leather label affixed to the leather case outer (losses to straps and end-flaps), together with a hand-written inventory list (in English) and notes on loading (in Finnish) and a test target shot in 1906

HAVEN', bead fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, plain cylinder with no trace of etched scene, solid frame (hairline crack through cylinder arbor aperture on left), brass trigger guard, iron grip-straps and smooth flared walnut grips, the underside of barrel fitted with an articulated loading lever, traces of finish only in sheltered areas, together with a period walnut case (lid relined), compartmented and lined in green baize and complete with period but unassociated powder-flask, 'L' shaped turnscrew and possibly correct double cavity brass mould, the lid with external brass escutcheon engraved 'LT JAMES ALDUS, CoB 3RD BATTALION N.Y. ARTILLERY'

BEALS PATENT' over patents to 1857, the top-strap with traces only of signature, solid iron frame with external cylinder indexing pawl, smooth gutta-percha grip with moulded cap and white metal trigger-guard bow, slight traces of finish in sheltered areas, in a later amateur produced wood case lined and compartmented in green baize and also containing a period pocket flask (split) and a possibly original iron double cavity mould

Near pair of late 18th century Royal Worcester ivory ground flasks with stoppers, each decorated with gilt foliate handles, duck and owl, shape no. 931, W8, 19cm high.CONDITION REPORT: One lid has the finial off, but present. There is no hairline crack under where the finial once was. The owl flask is in good condition overall, there are tiny imperfections to the foot.The bird/duck flask has areas of gilding flaked off to the left handle, neck and foot. Overall, in good, presentable condition.

dating: First half of the 19th Century provenance: Naples, Long and wide blade with hollowed tip, completely engraved, a hunter on the right side, with a gun and powder flask among the leaves on a black ground, view of Naples and Vesuvius on the other side, among the powder horn, hunting knife and floral motifs. Tang covered with silver foils, engraved with a figure, birds and geometrical motifs. Horn grip, chiselled with raisers and longitudinal grooves, with silver mounts, engraved with floral and geometrical motifs. Wooden, leather-covered scabbard with white metal mounts. length 46,5 cm.

A Large Edward VII Silver Hip-Flask, by Sampson Mordan and Co., London, 1906, plain with pull off base and bayonet fitting cap, engraved with a crest, 18cm high, 15oz 6 dwt . Marked to base, body and part marked to neck. All sets of marks partially rubbed. Slight bruise to centre of front, and small knock to both sides. Minor surface wear throughout, cap and hinge working properly.
