A George V silver hip flask, monogrammed A.B.B, Chester assay 1917, sponsors mark for Stokes & Ireland Ltd, approximately 152 grams / 4.8 ozt all in.Condition Report: Appears in good condition overall, cap closure mechanism functions, cork seal still present with some deterioration, a few small dents / knocks (largest approximately 5 mm diameter), light surface scratching and tarnish.
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: London, Round, smoothbore, blued, 18 mm cal. barrels, with rib marked 'WESTLEY RICHARDS 170 BOND S.T LONDON', engraved at the base, foresight, marks of the test bench below; large tang finely engraved with a deer among floral motifs. Wooden half stock of fine quality with checkered base and iron mounts decorated en suite. Serial number '56xx' coeval to the barrels. Brass-tipped ramrod with cartridge extractors. In its wooden case covered with green cloth and a copper and brass powder flask. length 116 cm.
dating: early 17th Century provenance: Germany, Body of circular shape, made f wood decorated with concentrical circles and slightly lowered at the center. Brass mounts. Fuse shaped as a truncated cone with closure shaped as a stylized bird; well-working spring. Two fixed loops. The flask is provided with the rare leather shoulder strap (with the obvious damages due to the antiquity of the material). Still complete with three accessories: a leather small flask with wooden stopper (probably for the pellets), with another leather small flask with glass mouth (still intact! Probably for the priming) and with a small wooden dispenser. height flask 17,2 cm.
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Europe, Octagonal, rifled, 15 mm cal barrels, provided with foresight, numbered '1' and '2' and with a crown mark at the back. Tangs with fixed rear sight. Locks engraved with small leaves, the hammer throw engraved as well. Working mechanisms, triggers with adjustment screw. Wooden butts with remains of checkering, both with cracks. Iron mounts. Floral engravings. Trigger guard with finger support. In a wooden case lined with green cloth; provided with ramrod and flask. length 35,5 cm.
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Bruxelles, Rifled (the rifling is barely visible), two-stage, 12 mm cal barrels, octagonal at the first part and then round, signed "MANGEOT ARQ.ER DE LA COUR A BRUXELLES" in gold, with two full grooved and two short ones on the sides, browned and finely engraved with floral motifs on the edges, precision front sight; the base of the barrels finely engraved with vine-shoots and adjustable sights. Forward spring locks decorated en suite on a dark background. Very fine, ebony butts richly sculpted with the same motif, engraved or sculpted iron mounts, trigger guards with finger supports. Kept in their wooden case, the cover richly inlaid with floral motifs and brass frames, the central part featuring a plaque with inscription "Ruben Bek Lalaev", lined with red cloth with the armourer's label and a box with tools and key, the powder flask marked "ELIA 1856" under a Count's crown. Rare and very beautiful pair of pistols with particular tools, the bullet mold engraved en suite with the pistols.length 42.5 cm.
dating: about 1855 provenance: England, Octagonal, rifled, 9 mm cal. barrel, engraved at the ends, with foresight; five-shot cylinder with marks of the test bench, frame signed 'JOHN HAYTON GJAHAMS TOWN'; frame engraved with floral motifs and with number 'No. 20269T'. Frame and magazine marked 'TRANTER'S PATENT'. 85% of the original browning (frame and barrel). Checkered wooden butt. In a wooden case covered with green cloth with bullet mold, box marked with 'W. TRANTER'S Patent LUBRICATING BULLETS', powder flask marked 'Dixion', ramrod, screwer, oiler and other things. Complete with key. length 27 cm.
dating: about 1855 provenance: London, Octagonal, rifled, 11 mm cal. barrel, engraved at the ends, with foresight; five-shot cylinder with marks of the test bench, the frame signed 'ISAAC HOLLIS & SON MAKERS TO HER MAJESTY'S WAR DEPARTMENT'; engraved frame with number '13317T', trigger and loading lever marked 'TRANTER'S PATENT'. 85% of blueing, the small spring in front of the cylinder is restored. Checkered wooden butt. In a wooden case covered with green cloth with label HOLLIS & SHEAT, bullet mold, box with 'Foil Covered Percussion Gun Caps', and powder flask 'HAWSKLE', ramrod, screwer and oiler. Complete with key. length 32 cm.
