An Edwardian silver and leather mounted glass hip flask, London 1910 CONDITION REPORT: height is 16 cm.weight of silver base 55.7g.Locks tightly and hinged lid strong, very tiny nibbles to the leading edge of the glass neck and pretty hard to see.Hallmarks are nice and clear in the main, a few small scuffs to the metal but mostly good.

An Historically Important and Poignant early 20th Century Combination ‘Tippling’ Hickory Walking Stick Belonging to Captain Noel Godfrey Chavasse VC & Bar, the brass mount stamped N.S. CHAVASSE CAPT RAMC, the brass central section unscrewing to reveal a glass flask, 86cms in length, Provenance: This item was previously offered in 2008 at Bonhams Auctioneers and was offered as part of a collection of walking sticks. Noel Chavasse was a British medical doctor, Army officer and Olympian. He was awarded the Victoria Cross and bar, one of only three people in history and the only person during the First World War. He was the most highly decorated British Officer during WWI. He was eventually killed in 1917 after being severely wounded whilst rescuing wounded soldiers in No-Mans Land.
