A Victorian Silver Hip Flask, by William Summers, London, 1880, oblong, the lower body with detachable cup, with bayonette mounted cover, 11.5cm high, 5oz 2dwt . Fully marked near top and under cup. Further part marked under cup. The marks have some wera but are generally still legible. There is some surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is a small bruise to the shoulder.

A Victorian Silver-Mounted Cut-Glass Dressing-Table Service and a Silver-Mounted Flask, by Charles Henry Dumenil, One Bottle and the Flask by Samuel Summers Drew and Ernest Drew, London, 1899, each piece with hammered finish and engraved with initials 'EB', in fitted easel mounted leather stand, one glass bottle lacking, with a leather covered ink bottle and vesta-case, Together With: two mounted copies of newspaper clippings outlining the career of the owner, the flask 15.5cm high , the stand 38.5cm wide Provenance: Owned by Ernest Alfred Bowen. Bowen was a successful Jockey who was born in Worcestershire in 1871 and apprenticed in Newmarket. Bowen saw success at Newmarket and Egmont and so was hired to jockey on the French circuit where he has considerable success during his career. . Each marked on silver mount. There is some wear to the marks but they are generally still legible. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use as well as some small bruises. There is a silver cover without a glass bottle and a corresponding empty compartment on the leather stand. There are some very minor chips to the glass otherwise and some staining and marks to the leather. The stopper is lacking from the flask which does not have a space in the leather stand.

dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Sardinian Kingdom, Rifled, round, 17 mm cal. barrel, with octagonal breech, provided with fore-sight mounted on bands that hold the slot for a bayonet, with foldaway and adjustable rear sight, remains of stamps at the base, mark 'DR' and date '1848'. Forward spring lock with roundish plate, marked 'FABB.A R.A / IN TORINO'. In working order. Wooden, long stock with remains of Savoy stamp on the right butt side and traces of other stamps. Iron mounts, some with stamps. Three bands, the central with mark and loop. Iron ramrod. Butt-plate with a long extended shoulder rest, provided with openable compartment with turn-off cover.The carbine is complete with:- a rare flask for Bersaglieri carbine, of triangular shape, in copper, with large, wooden opening and missing stopper, provided with two suspension rings.- a rare multi-use folding tool, original, preserved inside the butt, provided with nipple wrench, antique replaced nipple, cartridge extractor and screwdriver. See 'L'Armamento Individuale dell'Esercito Piemontese e Italiano 1814-1914' by Bartocci / Salvatici, Plate 22. length 117,5 cm.
