ADAM KUCHENREUTER IN REGENSBURG, CIRCA 1850 with etched twist octagonal sighted barrels signed in gold script surrounded by silver scrollwork and stamped with silver-lined maker's mark, scroll-engraved breeches and breech tangs, the latter each fitted with adjustable back-sight, scroll-engraved locks each fitted with gravity-stops, decorated with trophies-of-war and differing scenes of cavalrymen, the hammers each engraved with a J"ger vignette, set triggers, highly figured walnut half-stocks carved with scrollwork about the tangs and over the fore-ends, fluted butts carved en suite (one cracked through and repaired), scroll-engraved steel mounts en suite with the breech tangs, comprising flush-fitting side-plates of shaped outline, spurred trigger-guards, and butt-caps, and vacant white metal escutcheons: in original fitted case lined in plum velvet, and retaining almost their entire compliment of original accessories including mainspring clamp, nipple key and cut-glass oil bottle (powder-flask and turnscrew missing) 40cm; 15Nin Johann Adam Kuchenreuter (1794-1869) was gunmaker to the Princes von Thurn und Taxis.
