A velvet lined case containing two shot flasks. In detail:One engraved "The members of the Islington and Barnet Shooting Club. Presented to Frederick Tullett. This flask silver mounted shot pouch and cap charger was a token of friendship, regard and esteem and as Hon. Sec. to the Club 19th May 1864"The reverse of the flag contains a list of honorary members and members. Excellent condition with clear hallmarks. Length approximately 20 cmOne leatherbound shot flask with silver mount engraved "James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield". Powder measurer: 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 1 3/4 ounces. Cartouche (not engraved) bearing hallmarks. Length approximately 23.5cmSilver percussion cap dispenser, good quality with circular engraved decoration. Marked "James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield" Hallmarked as per flasks.All items contained within a leatherbound case 27 cm x 18 cm. Velvet and silk lining. Strong catch.

A FINE CASED PAIR OF EARLY 19TH CENTURY FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOLS the octagonal browned Damascus barrels signed along the top flat, platinum touch holes and signed lockplates, engraved trigger guards with stylised pineapple finials and matching butt caps on full walnut stocks with slab-sided chequered grip fitted in the original mahogany caddy top case with flush fitting hinged brass handle, the hinged lid opening to reveal a baize interior with various loading tools including bullet mould, wadcutter, powder flask and cleaning rod.box 45cm wideThe pistols are both in very nice original condition. Minor knocks to the stocks but no splits or restoration. The barrels and lock plates have no pitting and the steel reatains some original blueing. The bores again are in excellent condition. The hammers have a strong action on half and full cock.

No splits or damage to the grip.There are very small patches of pitting to the side of the barrel and the edge of the cylinder but very minor. The bore looks to be in good condition. The cylinder is in correct time and has good action. When the pistol was brought in the cylinder was loaded and the led bullets had to be removed. There is some red stain to the cylinder but should clean off with no pitting.

Condition Report: Free from any dents. Surface tarnishing and toning, the hinged screw action and cork stopper are working well, of good gauge, no give at all in the body.
