SCOTTISH FLATTENED COWHORN POWDER FLASK DATED 1696 AND 1765 decorated with a crown above a roundel below which initials AET + DC, above a fine flower head roundel with the date 1696 below, the reverse side with similar engraving with a date 1765 and a cross with intertwined S on the vertical arm and surmounted with a small coronet, the edges decorated with semi circles and punched dots with plain brass base cover, front suspension ring on a shaped brass collar (split), the nozzle (small damage) with cut linier lines to the spring cut off 15in. A cased pair of Westley Richards flintlock Officer`s pistols, 7inch sighted octagonal browned damascus barrels signed WESTLEY RICHARDS in gothic script on the top flats, foliate engraved barrel tangs, border and scroll engraved bolted locks signed WESTLEY RICHARDS and retaining good traces of original finish, platinum touch holes, full stocked with engraved steel mounts with good traces of blued finish, swivel ramrods, contained in their green baize lined oak case, complete with loading rod, bullet mould and three-way leather wrapped powder flask with sliding flint trap to the base.

A late 19th Century Stourbridge glass claret jug possibly Thomas Webb & Sons with a domed circular foot rising to a compressed globe and shaft flask form body with applied hollow blown hand and integral spout below spherical stopper, the whole polished intaglio cut with a peace of dove holding a laurel garland to one side with a bundle of weapons and armour to the opposing side all below classical repeat borders, unmarked, height 29.5 cm. A late 19th Century novelty spirit flask by Thomas Webb & Sons attributed to designs by Dr Christopher Dresser modelled in the form of a mythical beast. The compressed ovoid body with scroll tail, applied feet and stylised wings with a spherical head, collar nose and domed cover. The whole hand enamelled and gilded with foliate scrolls, length 26 cm, height 17 ccm complete with a series of page scans showing the original designs from the pattern books. Restored. ILLUSTRATED
