A six-shot, 54-bore cased percussion transitional revolver by W A Beckwith, London, 6 inch signed, having a sighted, octagonal barrel with micro-groove rifling, plain reciprocating cylinder, border and a scroll engraved frame, a finely chequered wood grip, the butt with trap, contained in its green baize lined oak case, the lid with circular brass escutcheon engraved ‘To Davenport McGill 60th Rifles’, complete with combination mould and rammer, brass cleaning/ramrod, narrow cylindrical copper Hawksley powder flask and a 250 cap tin, the inside of the lid with partial trade label, the outside of the box and revolver with old lot label 482, 29/9/97, Evan Perry Collection
An Old Sheffield plate canted-rectangular snuffers stand, engraved with a crest, 23.5cm (9.25in) long; a later snuffers; and a pair of Old Sheffield plate oval sauce tureens, covers and liners, engraved with two crests under a coronet, 22cm (8.75in) long (wear, repairs); an electro-plate, glass and leather spirit flask and a modern pewter mug (5). The crests of MANN and CORNWALLIS ensigned by an Earl’s coronet for James Cornwallis, later Mann [1778-1852] 5th Earl Cornwallis. Provenance: Cornwallis
A Victorian silver straight-tapered beaker by John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater, London 1890, engraved with scroll foliate panels and a presentation, the interior gilt, 12.5cm (5in) high; and a silver plain oblong spirit flask by James Dixon & Sons Ltd, Sheffield 1916, engraved ‘Stanley from W. L. H. R.’, 15.5cm (6in) high, 436g (14 oz) gross. The first presentation reads ‘Presented to Fiennes Wykeham Mann Cornwallis on the anniversary of his first Birthday by the employees Linton Park August 21st 1891’. Provenance: Cornwallis
