A 19th Century Berber Wood Powder Flask, Tafilalt, Morocco, carved from a single piece of wood, the semi-drum shaped receptacle with large cork stopper to one side, the opposing side carved in low relief with cross within a circular panel, the shoulders set with steel suspension loops and leather thong, with tapering hexagonal charger, lacks metal rim and stopper; 13cm diameter, 24cm high including charger.Condition report: Nice patina, the nozzle is missing its metal collar. Some bruising, but no damage.

BOND 45 CORNHILL LONDON' over 'GUN MAKER TO THE HON'BLE E.I. COMP'Y', bead fore-sights, engraved band at breech, trophy engraved top-tangs, flat locks with stepped rounded tails and signed 'E. BOND' below the semi rain-proof pans, roller springs and swan-necked cocks, walnut full-stocks with chequered bag-shaped butts, domed and engraved iron pommels and captive stirrup rammers, both pistols retaining strong traces of original finish and together with a walnut brass cornered case re-lined and compartmented in pale green baize and complete with a renovated period three-way flask, japanned cap tin, mahogany loading rod, scissors ball-mould and later wad-punch.
HANSON, DONCASTER A CASED .650 FLINTLOCK 'MAN-STOPPER' OVERCOAT PISTOL, no visible serial number, circa 1815, with 4 1/2in. octagonal barrel signed on the top-flat 'DONCASTER' (some shallow pitting), white metal bead fore-sight, shallow standing notch rear-sight, borderline engraved lock signed 'HANSON' below the pan and with stepped tail, probable replacement cock with sliding safe, engraved bridle and roller to the frizzen-spring, walnut full-stock with chequered bag-shaped butt, escutcheon to wrist and iron furniture including replacement ramrod, in a later walnut case relined and compartmented in green baize for this pistol and including a leather covered flask and a turnscrew.

LONDON' and numbered '1' and '2' respectively at breech, dove-tailed bead fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights, colour hardened patent squared breeches each with engraved pierced platinum plug and line, scroll engraved tangs also numbered '1' and '2' respectively, borderline and scroll engraved bar-action locks signed 'PURDEY', scroll engraved hammers with detachable noses and rear-mounted bolted safes, figured walnut half-stocks each with swept chequered grips, iron pommels with raised flanges each engraved with scrollwork, single set triggers, scroll engraved trigger-guards each with pineapple finial and possibly later applied finger-spurs, silver escutcheons engraved with griffons and oval barrel-bolt escutcheons, starburst engraved moulded iron fore-end caps with no provision for a ramrod, and some original faded finish throughout, London proof marks, in their maker's fitted walnut case lined and compartmented in green baize, the inside of lid with parchment trade label, with some accessories including a Britannia metal three-way powder-flask by James Dixon, a turnscrew, nipple-key, ebony nipple pot and a later loading rod.

JAMES'S STREET, LONDON', borderline and scroll engraved solid frame marked 'B14952 ADAMS' PATENT No. 30616R', plain five-shot cylinder with engraved band to leading edge and borderline engraved nipple-wells, sliding cylinder-locking safety, double action mechanism with spurred hammer, semi saw-handled chequered walnut grip and guarded trigger, blued rammer mounted to left hand side numbered on the inner face '4260', the whole in remarkable condition retaining virtually all its original blued finish (some frosting to rammer), together with its original oak storage case, small Thomas Boss trade-label inside lid and compartmented and lined in pea-green baize containing an original bag-shaped flask, brass un-numbered bullet mould, loading rod, oil bottle, nipple-key, turn-screw and cap tin, all also in little used condition (some tarnish to flask and oil-bottle).
COLT, USA A CASED .31 PERCUSSION REVOLVER, MODEL '1849 POCKET', serial no. 177689, for 1860, with 5in. octagonal barrel signed on the top-flat on two lines, plain five-shot cylinder with roll engraved scene, open iron frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', brass grip-straps, smooth walnut grip, all matching numbers including wedge, the whole cleaned of finish with some frosting and pin-prick pitting and together with a later case lined in green velvet and including a reproduction powder flask and nipple wrench, an original iron bullet-mould and two tins of percussion caps, (one full and one unopened)`.
COLT, LONDON A CASED .36 SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'COLT'S 1851 LONDON NAVY', serial no. 38408, for 1855, with octagonal 7 1/2in. London proved barrel, the top-flat signed 'ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON', six-shot cylinder with roll-engraved naval scene, open iron frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', iron grip-straps and trigger-guard, smooth walnut one-piece grip and articulated under-barrel rammer, dome-head screws, retaining minimal traces of finish (some light bruising), all matching numbers, 13 3/4in. overall, weight approximately 2 1/2lbs., in an apparent original US market walnut case, the lid with vacant rectangular central escutcheon, the lower left corner of lid stamped with '7TH CAV' within a rectangular border (faint), central lock (key absent), the interior lined and compartmented in customary Colt style with green baize, the inside of lid with period parchment instruction label and complete with a Sykes Patent silver-plated copper flask, steel double cavity Colt Patent mould (cleaned) and reproduction 'L' shaped nipple key.
TRANTER FOR COGSWELL & HARRISON A CASED 80-BORE TRIGGER-COCKING REVOLVER, MODEL 'TRANTER'S DOUBLE-TRIGGER', serial no. 16996T, circa 1857, with blued octagonal 4 1/2in. barrel, engraved band at muzzle, scroll engraving to barrel throat, dove-tailed pillar fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the back of the top-strap, the top-strap signed 'COGSWELL & HARRISON 223 & 224 STRAND, LONDON', borderline engraved plain cylinder, borderline and scroll engraved solid frame marked with additional number to front of frame '5456', 'S' shaped spring cylinder arbor release and 'Y' shaped safe spring, spur-less hammer, swept chequered walnut saw-handled grip with engraved iron pommel-cap and guarded trigger with auxiliary cocking trigger below the guard, the whole retaining a strong amount of blued finish where appropriate (some shallow bruising and frosting) and complete with its makers oak storage case (lock escutcheon and key missing), compartmented and lined in green baize, Cogswell & Harrison parchment trade label inside lid and complete with Tranter trademarked bullets and grease, an un-numbered Tranter's patent double cavity mould, a fine condition bag-shaped flask by Dixon, oil-bottle and period japanned tins for caps or nipples.
