Cased pair of officer's 16-bore flintlock pistols, signed I Lowther, London, early 19th Century, with octagonal sighted barrels 9.5", each engraved London on the top flat, tangs each with back sight, flat locks with safties to the French style cocks, full stocked with rounded butts, steel trigger guards with pineapple finials, brass tipped ram-rods with worms, in their green baize lined fitted case with two way powder flask signed Hawsley, two turn screws, ram-rod and spring-clamp Condition: Signs of light scratching as well as some heavier deeper ones to wooden case, wooden case also showing signs of small splits to the top cover, Baize lining appears to be worn in places (some heavier than others), both inner compartments retaining their wooden lift-off lids, wooden stock to both pistols also showing wear in places, having some deep indentations in places, as well as some light scratching. Would advise viewing in person prior to bidding. **General condition consistent with age

A small silver hip flask in the manner of Nathaniel Mills (maker's mark rubbed, Birmingham 1852), bears coat of arms / crest of the Forbes Leiths of Whitehaugh, Alford Aberdeenshire, initialed “CFL” (for Charles Forbes Leith) to base, 2.45 oz CONDITION REPORTS Numerous surface scratches and knocks and dents. A dent to the cap at the top and wear to the sides. Slightly mis-shapen in areas. General wear and tear commensurate with age and use. See photos for more details. Height approx 10.5 cm, width approx 6.5 cm, depth approx 1.5 cm.
