AN ANTIQUE 16 BORE FLINTLOCK PISTOL FITTED WITH A 7¾” BRASS BARREL AND WALNUT STOCK, the early lock is indistinguishably marked and secured to the stock with a fretted side plate with two bolts, its brass trigger guard bears an acorn motif and its spurred butt cap bears a coat of arms on its base, its wrist has been broken through at some point in the past and was neatly repaired with a brass plate, its lock is in working condition however the swan neck cock bears a welded repair, the barrel bears commercial proof marks indicating it was proved at the Tower of London, its collective features and related proof marks date its production sometime during the last quarter of the 1700’s, it comes with an inert .50” Browning cartridge, an unnamed copper powder flask bearing a hanging game motif and lacks a cut off spring, a flintlock pistol made up from antique gun parts which has a damascus 16 bore 7 ¾” barrel, a lock marked Lowe fitted with a waterproof pan and a .22” rifle cleaning kit (5)

dating: Early 19th Century provenance: Birmingham, Octagonal, smoothbore, with marble finish, 13 mm cal barrels, signed 'J. PROBIN BIRM.', with marks 'V' and 'P', engraved with a frame at the base and provided with rear sight and front sight, marked 'STUBS' below; finely engraved tangs; locks signed 'Probin', provided with secure lock and watertight, decorated hammers (slightly different). Wooden stocks with faceted butts, iron trigger guards engraved en suite. Set trigger. Wooden ramrods. In a wooden case with brass mounts (the lid needs to be fixed), lined with green cloth and provided with some tools including a double powder/bullet flask. dating: circa 1800 provenance: London, Smoothbore, octagonal, 17 mm cal. barrels, frame engraved at the base and signed 'NOCHOLSON LONDON', foresight, marked 'TWISTED' below and with two marks, vent lined with gold; tangs engraved with trophy and provided with rear sight. Elegant flintlocks signed 'NICHOLSON', engraved with rays and provided with safety lock, anti-friction and sealing systems. Wooden full stocks with checkered butt. Iron mounts; trigger guard finely engraved with trophy and floral motifs. Set trigger. Perfectly working mechanism. Wooden ramrod. In a wooden case lined with green cloth and provided with all the tools including the rare powder flask with three magazines for powder, bullets and another turn-off one for flints at the base. length 41 cm.
dating: circa 1800 provenance: Liege, Rifled, 14 mm cal barrels (clean bores, clearly visible rifling), in very fine damask, provided with front sight; engraved tangs with adjustable front sight; very elegant steel locks signed 'Tibot', finely engraved with floral motifs and provided with anti-friction and watertight systems; briar stocks, sculpted with floral motifs around the tangs and with micro-checkered butt. Beautiful silver mounts engraved with floral motifs. Horn-tipped, wooden ramrod (like the fore-end cap of the butt). In a wooden case (later?) lined in red velvet, signed with 'Tibot a Liege' in gold among floral decorations on the corners. With tools inside (a tool is missing but can be easily found) including a beautiful engraved iron cruet, a cow-horn powder flask, brass mounts and more. An interesting pair of very high quality pistols by a still unknown gunsmith. length 34 cm.
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Belgium, Octagonal, micro-rifled, blued, 12,2 mm cal barrels, (bore needs cleaning), with "LEG" mark of the Liegi test bench, one with missing foresight. Breeches with frames, tangs with fixed rear sight and leaf engravings. Forward spring locks engraved with racemes at the edges and at the bases of the cocks. Working mechanisms. Half wooden stocks with checkered grips and shell carving at the fore-end cap. Engraved, iron mounts. Adjustable triggers. Trigger guards with finger support. Kept in a wooden case (defects to the lid) without lock, only with the base lining, in reddish velvet (faded and lined), missing ramrod, provided with flask and a bullet mold. length 40,5 cm.
dating: 1867 provenance: USA, Octagonal, rifled, 5-inch, 31 cal barrel with small conical front sight, marked 'ADDRESS SAM.L COLT / NEW YORK US AMERICA' on the upper part; smooth, five-shot cylinder, engraved with 'COLTS PATENT' and serial number (last four digits); frame marked 'COLTS PATENT'; trigger guard and handle in one piece, made of brass; smooth walnut grips. Coeval serial numbers '32xxxx' and 'Balt. City Police'. In an antique wooden case, lined with brown velvet, provided with a box for the nipples, bullet molds, flask and a tool to disassemble it. dating: about 1810 provenance: Scotland, Round, smoothbore, turn-off, 12 mm cal barrel, engraved at the nozzle; oval frame signed 'INNES' and 'EDIN.R', finely engraved with trophies, rays and floral motifs, marked with 'P' under crown and with the mark of the London test bench. Secure-lock, foldaway trigger. Checkered, wooden butt. In wooden case lined with blue cloth, with flask, key for the barrel, bullet mold and key. length 16 cm.

Maybe some small remains of antique browning. Cylindrical, brass, boxlock frame. Featuring the signature 'JOHN EVANS / CARMARTHEN'. Marks of the Birmingham test bench at the lower part. Iron batterie, cock and foldaway trigger. Working mechanism. Dorsal, external safety lock. Wooden grip with thin checkering. Silver butt-plate shaped as a lion's head. dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: England, Two juxtaposed, turn-off, smoothbore, 10 mm cal. barrels, with small frame at the nozzle, remains of the antique bluing. Boxlock frame engraved with trophies on the sides and signed 'TATHAM LONDON' on the left side. Also on the same side the change lever of the barrels. London bench marks. Slightly different bluing. In wooden case, lined with burgundy velvet, provided with key, flask, bullet mold and primer case. length 24.7 cm.
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Belgium, Micro-checkered, octagonal, twisted, turn-off, 16 mm cal barrels with front sight; box-lock frames provided with a small sight, engraved with flowers and outlined, foldaway triggers marked 'AF 72' on the lower part; smooth ebony butts, both with a silver escutcheon on the back featuring a monogram, one of the two grips marked 'L 2567 A F'; butts with capsule holders fitted with silver lids. In a wooden case with label featuring the inscription 'Auguste Francotte a Liege' inside the lid; purple fabric lining, complete with key, flask and some tools including the bullet mold length 29 cm.

Cylindrical, brass powder flask with a large anchor testing that it is most likely a naval officer's weapon. length 19.2 cm.

A Pair of 19th Century Percussion Travelling Pistols by Cocker of Glasgow, 50 bore, each with 14.5cm octagonal browned steel barrel engraved GLASGOW to the top flat and with platinum line, with re-blued dolphin hammer and back action lock plate, signed and engraved with foliage, the walnut full stock with re-blued steel swivel ramrod and foliate engraved trigger guard, with chequered bag butt, 27cm , in an associated mahogany case, the green baize lined interior fitted with accessories comprising a copper pistol flask, an ebony and brass cleaning rod, a cap tin, lead bullets in two compartments with bone knops to the lids. Actions work well, hold at full and half cock. Sympathetically restored, barrels re-browned, lock plates and trigger guard re-blued.
