A rare Chinese famille rose enamelled porcelain bowl, mark and period of Yongzheng (1723-35), the near hemi-spherical sides supported on a slightly everted foot, the exterior painted with two elderly sages and their acolyte strolling in a landscape, both sages bare kneed and wearing sandals, one carrying a staff, the other a mattock, their acolyte carrying a double gourd flask and looking over his shoulder, the finely painted landscape of hills and crags picked out in blue, aubergine and greens with a gnarled tree in the foreground, the interior with a small pine and rock detail, six character mark of Yongzheng in underglaze blue to base, diameter approx 11.8cm, height approx 6.3cm (minor enamel loss).

A SILVER HIP FLASK HALLMARKED 1854, with a balloon shaped body, the lower half of the casing can be removed and used as a drinking vessel, the body with acanthus scroll engraving, a vignette of a pair of dogs observing a ternion of wildfowl taking flight on one side, and with a blank circular escutcheon on the other, with a screw-top with a cork inner.
AN UNUSUAL POWDER FLASK, POSSIBLY ITALIAN, 19th century, 12in. long, comprising a silver-plated inner covered with a pierced and carved cow-horn outer depicting images from Roman legend including Romulus and Remus being suckled by the wolf, a portrait bust of an Emperor surrounded by a laurel wreath, a charioteer and a foot-soldier with columns in the background (possibly gladiators in the Coliseum), and a Roman soldier standing at the bottom of a staircase with a woman looking on from the top of the stairs, near the neck of the flask a heart-shaped panel is engraved with 'FEKETE', silver-plated nozzle with sprung iron cap.

MILLS, LONDON, circa 1825, 5 1/4in. overall, with turn-off barrels each engraved with a band of foliage at the muzzle, scroll engraved actions signed 'W. MILLS / 120 / HOLBORN' and 'LONDON' (one cock and one steel replaced), engraved thumb-piece safety-catches also locking the steels, folding triggers, figured flat-sided walnut butts each chequered on the back edge and the underside and pierced and lined with engraved steel to form a barrel-key for the other pistol, and silver escutcheons each engraved with a crest and initials, in original fitted mahogany case lined in red velvet (faded) with some accessories including small three-way brass-mounted copper pistol-flask, barrel-key, and bullet mould, the central tray lifting out to reveal a lower tier, the lid with trade label of William Mills, the exterior with flush-fitting circular carrying handle and circular brass escutcheon engraved with the same crest and initials as the pistols.

GUN-MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY' and inlaid with two gold lines at the breech, silver fore-sights, gold-lined touch-holes, foliate engraved tangs each incorporating the rear-sight, flat bevelled detented locks each signed 'H.W.
