Works well on FC and HC with a clean bright bore.

A CASED 16-BORE ROYAL DOUBLE BARRELLED PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN BY JOSEPH MANTON, 28inch sighted browned damascus barrels engraved with the manufacturer's details, case colour hardened scroll engraved breech with platinum vents, stamped with the serial no. 8207 to the underside of each barrel alongside the initials CL, border and scroll engraved locks signed JOSEPH MANTON PATENT, fitted with detachable spring retained noses and pivoting safeties, half stocked with chequered wrist, border and scroll engraved steel mounts decorated with stands of arms, the trigger guard with fine pineapple finial and the tang engraved with the serial no. 8207, some traces of original blued finish, the back of the wrist with a rectangular white metal escutcheon bearing the Royal crest of a crowned lion statant, contained in its green baize lined mahogany case, the inside of the lid with maker's trade label, complete with powder flask, shot flask, cleaning rod and trunscrew, two lidded compartments one baize covered the other wood, split and repaired, one bone and one horn lifter, the lid inset with a circular brass lifting handle and engraved with a crest to match that on the gun. The serial number pertains to a gun made in 1818 of pellet lock configuration and now converted to caplock. Works well on FC and HC with clean bores.

A 7-BORE PERCUSSION DUCK GUN BY WILLIAM & JOHN RIGBY, 42inch sighted damascus barrel with platinum lined foliate engraved breech with a platinum vent, stamped with the serial no. 10889 to the underside of the breech and the barrel, border and scroll engraved back action lock signed W & J RIGBY, half stocked with chequered wrist, border and scroll engraved nickel mounts, the trigger guard tang engraved with the serial no. 10889, nickel topped wooden ramrod, contained in its green felt lined travelling case with trade label for Charles Lancaster, complete with its correct shot flask and associated wad cutter. The serial number pertains to a Duck Gun German Silver Mounted 7-Bore 42 Inch Barrel made for The Reverend H. Cavendish Browne at a cost of £11 and 11 Shillings and manufactured in 1858. Works well on FC and HC with a clean bore.

Generally excellent condition and working order with a clean bright bore. Some flaking to blued finish at the muzzle. One case partition loose. Typed letter regarding the history of Adams revolvers.
