A good pair of officer’s 16 bore percussion holster pistols, by Beckwith, London, c 1850, 14” overall, browned octagonal twist barrels 8” with single platinum line at breeches and swivel ramrods, the top flats engraved “London”, the back action locks and flat hammers nicely engraved with scrolled foliage, the plates also engraved “Beckwith”, the walnut fullstocks with chequered butts and scroll engraved blued steel trigger guards. GWO & C, the trigger guards retaining much original blued finish, the barrels with some original browning; contained in a good quality green baize lined brass bound mahogany case, with reproduction Beckwith trade label in the lid, and containing a good embossed copper 3 way flask (R 1274 with common top), a stout brass mounted wooden cleaning rod, steel pincer mould, Dixon pewter oil bottle, a good reproduction nipple key with pricker, a matching screwdriver, and a modern cap tin.
