The original Terry family furniture is on display at Fairfax House in York; it was donated to the York Civic Trust after Noel’s death in 1980. A DIRECTOIRE MAHOGANY AND GILT METAL MOUNTED COMMODE CIRCA 1795 With Carrara marble top 91cm high, 146cm wide, 61cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old chips, splits and losses Some fading to the timber. Key is present and operates the locks, though some can stick and may seize. The bottom drawer lining for the lower three drawers are replaced The middle full width drawer 'sticks' and would benefit from the runners being waxed. Some later blocks of timber added to the interior of the carcass to provide support and minimise shrinkage gaps to panelling. The marble top with some surface marks, small use of filler on places to disguise small chips of loss.
