A Minton Haddon Hall pattern bone china dinner service, comprising twelve dinner plates, twelve 27 cm plates, twelve 20 cm plates, eighteen 16 cm side plates, twelve soup bowls, sauce boat and stand, two lidded tureens, oval serving platter, eighteen saucers, eighteen cups, two sugar basins, two cream jugs, sandwich plate, teapot, five condiments, two small dishes and cocktail stick holder (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This service is in generally extremely good order. It has clearly seen very little use. All items are in first class condition with no damage, repair or restoration other than one 7 inch plate has a small under edge chip. A sugar basin has a hairline crack. Both pepperettes are cracked. Two tea cups have slight staining to the interior. The stains look like hairline cracks but may not be.
A 19th century cane, with horse hands measuring stick integral to the body, stamped "Patent". Length 36 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The rule is not brass. It is wooden with a brass and silver coloured terminal. The whole measuring stick slides into the cane itself and is captive at the base. The piece is in generally good order with no significant issues that we can see. There is a small loss to the outside edge of the measuring stick at approximately 1.25 meters but this is very minor. The cane itself has a small crack to the bottom section but again this is not problematic.
A George III mahogany cased stick barometer, with broken arch pediment and three brass finials above the glazed door enclosing the silvered brass dial with Summer and Winter scales from 28 to 31, with exposed tube and inlaid cistern cover. Height 39 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This barometer is in good, original, unrestored condition. The pediment is in good order and the three brass finials appear to be original. The case is in generally very good condition. The hinged cistern cover is complete and intact. The hinges operate as they should. There are no losses to the case. The mercury in the tube appears to be unbroken and is rising and falling with pressure changes. The tube is not leaking.
