WWI British War Medal and Victory Medals to Captain Alfred Frithjof Merry MC and bars, 18th Battalion The Liverpool Regt. Complete with original ribbons. Along with his Miniature Medals comprising of the Military Cross with two bars, War & Victory Medals, all mounted on a pin backed bar. Spare mini ribbons. He also served in WW2 in the General Service Corps at a Lt. Col. Included are one GS collar dog and one slip on rank slide, plus a souvenir German War Merit Medal ribbon and Hanover Messe 1951 stick pin, Liverpool Rifles Officers Association rules booklet 1921, photocopy of his citation of each award of the Military Cross taken from the Gazette, Daily Telegraph War Map of Europe. In WW2 he served with MI 10 and gathered intelligence used at the Nuremburg Trails. Note: Please see lot 4001 in this sale for his Brother's WW1 Death Plaque.
Victorian British Heavy Cavalry Officers Sword and Sam Brown Belt. Sword has decorated etched single edged fullered blade 887mm in length. Proof marked along with retailers mark "W. Anderson & Sons, 17, George Street, Edinburgh", etched panel with Queens Crown and VR, opposite side of the blade has etched panel with "Lothian & Berwickshire Yeomanry". Steel guard pierced with honeysuckle pattern design. Wire bound Shagreen grip. Overall length 104cm. Complete with leather frog and scabbard. Sam Brown belt has a name written in ink which appears to read "Rodney Thewell". In addition there is an officers brown leather covered swagger stick 71cm in length. (3)
