A late 19th/early 20th Century lady's fan, with hand painted scene on silk of a gentleman and three ladies fishing in an Italianate landscape, the mother of pearl sticks with pierced and gilt foliate decoration, each stick 13" long overall and the fan 24" across when open. Reputedly previously the property of Mrs C E Dashwood, a relative of the Spencer Churchill family and residing at Wherstead Park near Ipswich.
A GEORGE III TAPER STICK, the circular waisted stem with knopped sections, applied with acanthus leaves and roundels, with a detachable circular sconce with "egg and dart" border, bearing a crest to each side, the sconce also crested, on a square base, by Ebenezer Coker, London 1769, (c.8oz), 61/2" high.
