A pair of early 20th century silver squat candlesticks, Birmingham hallmarks 1903 (12cm). Condition Report: Both sticks do not show any signs of damage. One is missing its felt on the base and on the other the felt is coming away and the plaster infill is flaking, which in turn, makes it stand slightly unlevel. This same stick has slightly rubbed hallmarks. Date readable, all dates match.

*Swagger stick. A Boer War period swagger stick of The Duke of Wellington's Regiment with silver top on Malacca shaft, Birmingham 1907, with silver ferrule, 70.5cm long together with a luggage label inscribed with initials SFM (S.F. Marriner, Skipton) plus South African silver 2 1/2 shilling coin, the reverse engraved with 33rd (The Duke of Wellington's Regiment) Foot South Africa 1899-1900 Major Sidney Fox Marriner was born in 1800 at Keighley, Yorkshire, he was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in 3rd Battalion, Duke of Wellington's Regiment on 26 January 1900, promoted Lieutenant 15 November 1900, reengaged for WWI service with the regiment , serving on the Western Front including the Battle of the Somme, wounded (entitled to a silver war badge),mentioned in despatches and retired Major in 1919. (3)

A WWI period walking stick, with ivorine spherical handle engraved with the crest of the Royal East Kent "The Buffs" Regiment on an ebonised shaft, 93 cm long overall, together with a WWI oil on panel for the 1st Bn, The Cheshire Regt, with crest and battle honours, plus a similar one for 1st Battalion The Loyal Regiment North Lancashire, 14 x 24 cm wide each stamped on reverse 'Henry Potter & Co, 36-8 West Street, Charing Cross X Rd, London' Produced by Henry Potter & Co for the regiments drums. Two boxes of sundry china and assorted decorative wares to include various figurines of greyhounds, etc, a Seiko mantle clock, pair of dogs of Fo ornaments, etc, together with a blue transfer decorated stick stand, a cranberry glass oil lamp with shade and a metal figure of a running horse CONDITION REPORTS Greyhound figures only - three glazed pottery figures of greyhounds all have crazing, one of the greyhounds has some rubbing to the paintwork to the ear, the greyhound on the shaped base has a broken tail and there are some small chips to the ears. Capo di monte figure on square base has some dirt to the back hind quarter on one side and some chipping to the fur effect on the other. All other figures have some small chips, etc. All items have general wear and tear conducive with age and use and are in need of a good clean. See images for more details. Lamp shade now broken.

19th century rosewood walking cane, the carved rhino horn pommel with blue glass bead decoration, 85cm, the pommel, 6cm. We have been advised by the APAH that it would be extremely unlikely that an application to re-export this item would be approved CONDITION REPORT: Stick marked and scraped commensurate with age. Gilded brass top to the stick has a small split of 8mm. Horn pommel gas 3 or 4 small holes, three small nicks/scratches near the top carved area and scraping on the fluted edge rim.
