A large old Zulu hardwood knobkerry with ball head, 22” overall, diameter of ball 4”, large age split to ball, and a Zulu stick, the head carved to represent a human head, the length of the handle entirely covered in decorative wire work. There is a round hole in the top of the head, possibly for snuff. Overall length 23”, chip to nose of face, otherwise GC Plate 2
Four wooden 20th Century Zulu clubs, including a throwing club with swollen end 24” overall, a roughly finished knobkerry with round head 27” overall, a rough club sagila with facetted head and retaining some bark, 31” overall and decorated with rubber bands and a light stick with Swazi style fluted head, overall 45”. Basically GC.

Some hair loss in streaks to the face the colour originally all black with white lacing denoting a young, unmarried ibutho (regiment), perhaps the iNgobamakhosi. P. Caminda, a mahogany stick barometer: the silvered dial engraved with typical gauge, maker`s name P. Caminda, Taunton and set with a thermometer to the side, with a glazed hinged door, the mahogany case with a visible tube, crossbanding to the sides, a turned cistern to the base and an architectural pediment with a turned brass finial to the centre, height: 97cm. * Peter Caminda is recorded as working in the High Street, Taunton from circa 1820 until at least 1845.
