Along with Fords XR3 and XR2 probably one of the most famous Hot Hatch’s to come from the 80’s was the Peugeot 205GTi. Same ethos, take a small every day shopping trolley, stick in a bigger engine and stiff suspension and “Hey-presto” probably the best fun you can have on four wheels. When you think about it the manufacturers of the day were doing no more than people had been doing for years in garages and workshops up and down the land, just mass produced. This particular car has the bigger of the two engines available, the 1900cc unit which still appears to be in rude health, starting easily and pulling strongly with no nasty smoke etc evident. Gearbox clutch and general transmission are all good. Electrics and general mechanics are good. The body work in this rare green metallic is bright and shiny, not mint but even after all these years still very presentable. Interior is good again not mint but good and very useable as is and the vendor will be placing a new MOT on the car prior to auction. So look on this particular car as one you can get in and use, enjoy it for what it is as it is and tinker with as you go. Sounds like fun to us!
