Lot 445

A pair of 17th / 18th century Flemish brass pricket candlesticks each with a circular drip pan with iron spike, supported on a turned and knopped baluster stem, on a triangular base with scroll decoration and stepped square feet, 22¾in. (57.75cm.) high. (2) *Condition: Tip of one spike blunted and has a small split with soldered repair to inside of the lip of one drip pan. The drip pan on the other stick is slightly loose and turns. Iron threaded nut fittings different on the two sticks - one has a much longer threaded bolt with wing nut, the other a shorter bolt with hexagonal nut. No other faults.

A 19th century French gilt bronze and champleve enamel chamberstick the urn sconce carried by a seated putto, on a dished base with flying scroll handle with anthemion thumbpiece, decorated with champleve enamel floral strapwork, 4 7/8in. (12.3cm.) high. *Condition: Very small ding to rim of dish, tiny flakes from enamel to thumbpiece. Handle slightly bent and possible old soldered repair to joint with stick.

(82.2cm.) long. *Condition: The elephant head with tiny nibble to lower section, the lion mask still showing all the teeth, the bamboo sections with age related splits, one middle section with repair, overall good.
