Likely old clean and revarnish. Some surface dirt and discoloured varnish now in evidence. Some flattening to original impasto and paint is possibly slightly thin in places as a result of the restoration process, ie right hand side foliage and tree trunk branches. Stretcher shadow in parts and areas of varying sized craquelure which is more pronouced in line with parts of the stretcher and also in the background to gentleman's right hand and lower right arm. Push mark from back to front within the shadow of his pointed left foot with small losses and borderline perferation of canvas, which is approximately 5-6cm in length overall (see image). Three patches of retouching or overpainting towards upper left hand corner of varying sizes, the largest being approximately 3-4cm by 3cm overall. Further patch of retouching/restoration within the sky just left of the gentleman's right hand side of face, which is approximately 4cm in overall diameter (see image). Minor retouches and strengthening to his left hand side lapel, right hand side shoulder and elements of his overcoat, more consistantly within the lower inside. Small retouch just below his left hand side knee within the upper part of the right stocking, which is approximately 1-1.5cm in diameter. Some broader general strengthening to foreground and the line of trees and foliage in mid distance, in addition to a patch of consistant strengthening to the slither of landscape to the right of the far right hand side tree. Relatively small area of restoration and retouching within the central part and the immediate sky of the outer foliage of the far left hand side tree. Other relatively minor and sporadic retouches elsewhere, etc (see addition images under UV). Some of the restoration has deteriorated and is mildly visible by eye. Chewie (Aaron Yoo) discovered a hockey stick while exploring a tool shed adjacent to Trent's (Travis Van Winkle) cabin. Made of wood, the hockey stick has a blue and red stripe along its shaft and a textured heel. The handle and blade of the hockey stick are wrapped in black tape. The lot exhibits minor signs of wear, including scuffs and chips to the wood. In the original script, Jason Voorhees' (Derek Mears) killed Chewie with a hockey stick, but this was changed to a screwdriver on the day of the shoot. AN ADVENTURE IN SPACE AND TIME (2013) - Silver DalekA Dalek from Terry McDonough's biographical television drama An Adventure in Space and Time. Made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the sci-fi BBC TV series Doctor Who, the film explores the creation of this beloved show and William Hartnell's (David Bradley) portrayal of the first Doctor. After producer Verity Lambert (Jessica Raine) convinced creator Sydney Newman (Brian Cox) to televise the Dalek story, the series became a huge success.This Dalek was one of four used to recreate the aliens' first-ever appearance and has a hollow interior and seat for the actor operating it. Finished primarily in silver paint, the Dalek comprises a wooden upper body, which features aluminium plating; an operable metal, resin and rubber gun stick; an operable plunger arm; and a fibreglass neck frame lined with black mesh, for the operator to see through. The Dalek also has a swivelling fibreglass dome head featuring an eye stalk that moves up and down, and two orange ping pong balls as communication indicators, which have lights inside powered by a 12v battery. These electronics remain untested. The upper body, which has "No. 4" written on its lower rim, can be separated from the wooden skirt it sits upon. This skirt features the name "Paul" written on its interior and is studded with rows of blue plastic sense domes, with black rubber fenders covering the wheels fixed to its base. A secondary wheeled base frame was added to this Dalek for extra support when filming on Westminster Bridge. The lot exhibits wear from production use and age, including a broken dome, chips, scuffing to the fenders and peeling paint on the plunger. JUMANJI (1995) - Alan Parrish's (Robin Williams) Screen-matched SFX KnifeAlan Parrish's (Robin Williams) screen-matched SFX knife from Joe Johnston's adventure film Jumanji. Alan wielded his knife when he returned to his family home after 26 years of being trapped inside the supernatural board game of the title. This knife's handle can be screen-matched to the scene where he waved the blade at the lion that was released with him, and the weapon ended up embedded in the floor. The knife features a metal blade covered in grey-painted resin designed to resemble carved stone, and a resin handle hand-painted to resemble worked ivory. Williams was trained to handle knives with the special steel insert, which he used to throw and stick into the mansion floor. This knife exhibits discolouration and chipped resin. BATMAN (1989) - Main Unit ClapperboardA main unit clapperboard from the production of Tim Burton's 1989 superhero film Batman. This wooden clapperboard has been painted primarily black with a black-and-white chevron pattern applied over one side of the clapper. The production name "Batman," "MAIN UNIT," and the names of the director and director of photography (Roger Pratt) have been hand-painted on the board in white. Strips of beige tape are adhered along the bottom edge and display the date of its last use, "24:1:89 DAY INT," written in black marker pen. Its reverse side reads "A CAM," which has been made in strips of white tape. The clapperboard exhibits chips to the paint, traces of old chalk, marks from where tape has been previously removed, and rust to the metal clapper stick hinge.
