A PAIR OF PENNINGTON LIVERPOOL PORCELAIN COFFEE CUPS, c.1770, of plain ribbed form painted in underglaze blue with the "Horse-Tail" pattern enclosing a script monogram "BHM", unmarked, 2" high, together with a Seth Pennington high Chelsea ewer printed with a chinoiserie figure with a bird on her left wrist and a porter carrying a bundle on a stick, unmarked, 3 1/4" high, a pair of First Period Worcester ribbed coffee cups and en trembleuse saucers with painted blue borders, saucers 5 1/4" diameter, saucers with differing workmen's marks, cups with crescents, and a later Worcester wrythen moulded trio and a similar saucer dish (11) N.B. Two Royal Copenhagen figures, comprising: one of a seated boy with a stick; and one of a young accordion player, numbered 3667. together with a Moorcroft oviform vase and cover, decorated with floral designs; and a W.G.& G. blue-ground vase of square section, decorated with Japanese-style kacho-ga designs, the last 36 cm. high (4) Condition Report Please note that this is a group lot where condition may vary from object to object. The damage includes areas of rim chipping and deterioration to the Moorcroft vase.
Arte Islamica. A large papier mache lacquer board depicting a royal gathering in the Safavid style Iran, 19th century. Big painting depicting a court celebration, characterized by the Shah in the top right, framed by a building depicted in multiple perspective, and surrounded by attendants bearing food, and figures feasting in the lower level. In the background is an idyllic landscape, separated from the scene mentioned above by a red railing, which, together with the characteristics of the figure and the taj (headwear with central stick), identifies the painting as belonging to the Safavid tradition. Some of the faces were erased, many stereotyped and some resemble proper portraits. Illuminated with interwoven palmettes and half-palmettes on the margins. Paintings similar to this were sold by Christie’s in 2012 (sale 6853, lot 41). . Cm 48,80 x 72,00 x 0,90.
A sergeants baton, circa 1920, the leather covered baton with hidden single-edged blade, 43cms (17in.); together with an ebonised sword stick, the grip unscrewing to reveal a pushed blade inscribed "Jiffy Patent Needle, Made In England", 80cms (31 1/2in.) long; an early 20th Century horse whip, the leather mounted grip with screw-off mount holding platted whip; and a malacca swagger with silver pommel, circa 1889, embossed with feather scrolls engraved monogram.
